"Claire, you filthy bitch!" Kelly lunged at her, fingers clamping down hard on her arm, her eyes burning with fury. "Don't think that just because you ended up in Gilbert Watson, everything will start going your way. Let me remind you, your child is a bastard. That little brat isn't even his. Do you really think a man like Gilbert would want a soiled woman who gave birth to another man's child?"
Claire's face went white. Every word was poison, but this woman had crossed the line.
She had dared to call her precious daughter a bastard.
