Bonnie's nerves twitched. She immediately leaned in to kiss Derek's chin, rubbing against him affectionately, her voice soft enough for only the two of them to hear. "Derek… Derek…"
Her palms pressed together as she looked up at him with pleading, catlike eyes. "I'm not ready yet. Next time, please? Next time, okay?"
Derek lowered his gaze, watching her shamelessly act cute. His eyes narrowed slightly as he casually moved his phone a little farther away and asked lazily, "Next time? And when exactly would that be?"
From his expression, it was obvious. If she dared say "too long," he'd drag her straight to his grandfather's house right now.
Bonnie's eyes darted, her red lips parting. "Three months—"
Before she could even finish the word *later,* she saw Derek's half-smile as he lifted the phone to his ear. She instantly corrected herself. "This month! This month!"
Satisfied, Derek reached out and affectionately patted her head.
