A single white flower was put on top of it by the Maids. The flower was simple and clean. It was alive. The pale petals of the flower really stood out against the dark earth. The petals were fragile. They were also stubborn, in the quiet beauty of the white flower.
Leon stood up straight when he was finished. He brushed the dirt off his gloves. He did this slowly and carefully. Leon wanted to make sure his gloves were clean. He kept brushing the dirt from his gloves with slow motions.
The sun was higher, in the sky now. Its warmth was still faint. You could feel the suns warmth was really there. The air felt lighter now. It was not peaceful it was not healed the air was just no longer suffocating because of the sun. The sun made the air feel lighter.
For a long time nobody said a word. All you could hear was people walking away and the wind blowing gently over old broken rocks. Then Leon was the one who finally spoke up and said something.
