A Promise Spoken in Silence
The people, around them slowly bowed their heads.
Boots shifted on the floor. Peoples hands curled into fists at the sides of their bodies. Nobody said a word.. The silence felt like a promise. The anger of the people simmered below the surface it was hot and it was heavy but the anger of the people never got high enough to boil over.
Respect really held everything in place. Respect was very important. It kept things together. The concept of respect held it down.
I feel like I have a responsibility to do this. The duty is binding me tight. This duty is really holding me back. The duty is what is bound tight around me.
