I entered into a secret arrangement with Idris. One I could not disclose or risk Leonard knowing about.
Just yesterday, Leonard had come so close to finding out, and when he stopped kissing me abruptly, I couldn't help but panic. Then he mentioned that he was angry with Idris, and I was certain that he'd become suspicious but it was nothing as it turned out, and I couldn't be more relieved.
This agreement I had with Idris, the same agreement I could not tell anyone was only for a limited time, and as days rolled into weeks, the time frame for the agreement reduced, and I couldn't wait to be done.
I didn't for once think Idris would breathe a word of our agreement to Idris. Aside from the fact that I made him promise to keep it a secret, he also knew that it was the right thing to do at this point.
