The next day.
Everyone had prepared to leave the Frozen Everglades, yet there was one small delay with their exit. According to the rules of NUS, a foreigner trespassing a country without an explainable reason would guarantee them lifetime prison in Alkan Prison in Rein and especially since Danso and the DMMS members had mixed into the politics of the region they would usually get an execution sentence or gruesome imprisonment in Alkan.
Ozamu, Takahashimi, and Chiro had decided to take care of that issue and went to the NUS Headquarters to get a security clearance and mercy. Realistically, no one would object to Chiro's wishes but he decided to follow guidelines and rules so no jealousy brewed within the committee.
Meanwhile Danso decided it was finally time to pay an old friend a visit. Haruki and Tensei were in their hut wasting time, while Emily and Nicole helped Natsuki with the hospital and cleaning up the mess of Fort Fjord.
Hiroshi was resting peacefully in his bed as he breathed the fresh air around him. It was a nice balance between cold and warmth that made him feel comfortable.
A dagger cut through the atmosphere and went towards Hiroshi who quickly destroyed it with a single lightning strike.
"You've gotten slow," said Danso who was standing with his back supported by a metal pole.
"I am a patient, leave me alone," said Hiroshi, throwing a lightning bolt at him before turning over on his bed.
Danso quickly sliced the lightning bolt using his water stance and made the energy dissipate into the surroundings without causing any harm to any other patient in the hospital.
"I will after you answer my questions," replied Danso.
"What questions?" asked Hiroshi.
"Why did you leave Lukia?" asked Danso.
"I am not from there and I went back to my home country," answered Hiroshi.
Danso came closer to Hiroshi and pulled the collar of his white patient shirt.
"Don't play with me here, tell me why," said Danso.
Hiroshi exhaled a lightning bolt that stung Danso's hand as he released Hiroshi's collar while rubbing his hand as it got burnt.
"I left because Suzumi told me to come back…He's my country's Hokage. There was no bigger honor. Yet, as I got closer to him and got into the Crimson Eclipse it was extremely obvious that Suzumi was not Suzumi. After digging around and after the Raid on Fort Fjord I learnt that it was Xeno who called me back," answered Hiroshi.
"So straightforward," sighed Danso.
"Now leave me alone," groaned Hiroshi.
"Okay, Knight Ninja," said Danso as he walked towards the exit of the room waving goodbye to Hiroshi.
Danso walked outside as the bright morning sunlight bloomed into his eyes. It was a pleasant feeling that Danso appreciated as he walked thinking about what to do next. Then, he remembered about Yvette. Everlin might have not been her actual child but she raised him as such, he wanted to check on how she was doing.
Danso made his way to Yvette's hut slowly trying to stay as positive and embrace nature as much as possible. He opened the hay door of the hut and walked inside to find it to be empty. Almost as if no one resided inside it for a long time.
The tables were clean, the radio was still playing distorted sounds, and Danso got suspicious and made his way around the house checking to see if there were any abnormalities.
Then inside the creaky, dusty attic Danso saw a dusty book and a letter neatly placed on top of a wooden table in the center of the attic. Danso picked the letter up and opened it gently before reading its contents. It was black ink written on white snow-like paper.
"Dear Danso, I know you will be the first one to read this letter. After this incident that happened at Fort Fjord, I need answers. My past, my husband…Who even is Lavenus and Everlin? Who am I? I need to know. Therefore, I have set sail on a course to Northguard City. This diary is something I found recently on the day that Everlin passed away. Its contents are just an introduction to the events that happened in the Floating City over 10 years ago,"
"The Northguard City Massacre is extremely inconsistent with its time…Was it 10 years ago when Charles went back up and massacred the citizens with the Clan with no Name?" thought Danso.
Danso patted the book before blowing off the dust on it and opening its first page.
'Author's note:- This is my diary…A final safeproof that I and the events that happened two-thousand years ago happened. There were two Northguard City Massacres, the second one which will happen in the year 2015 of the New Era is nothing more than a small incident compared to what happened then…Diablo is coming,"
"Interesting," said Danso, smirking to himself.
He felt like the diary was not a diary instead a story book. He took a deep breath and continued reading the contents of the diary. The main question he had was the dating system of the diary. There were two eras mentioned. One was the Old Era which he did not know what it meant and he assumed that the New Era is the current era which was going on from 0 CE-2025 CE. From the meeting he had with Marline Hermes in the Black Market he knew that it meant Vladimir was the King of Northguard City at the time.
Year 10,567 Old Era. Northguard City Date:- Vladimir Era
A prison with cold stone tiles molded from clay and dirt. The beds in the prison were nothing more than slabs of cement with cotton as pillows. Blankets were a luxury that the prisoners could not get. Up on the wall there was a small opening for ventilation the size of a rectangular clock. They were alkanium metal railings as well making sure no one escapes.
The wardens were patrolling with their huge hammers and bats slamming the ground making the rats in the cracks of the walls go towards the prisoners and the noise to disturb the prisoners rest.
A man with a magician's hat and a harmless toy wearing ragged clothes the color of sand sat using the wall as back support and faced the door of the cell. It appeared as if he was resting. He had droopy black hair with a white face whose cheeks were covered in tiny freckles. His arms and back were covered with scars but his physique was not fully muscular. It was almost like it was sleeping.
A sudden rattling sound of the rail door was heard.
"Hey, you useless brat, wake up, it's time for roll call," said the warden.
The man did not respond.
The warden opened the door to the room and walked inside. He grabbed the man's collar and lifted him up. The warden was huge, much taller and wider than the man.
"I am speaking to you, worthless runt," said the warden.
"Don't look back…Demon is there," said the man.
The warden threw the man down before walking back and circling his room. He laughed for a minute before replying.
"Demons, Devils, Ignired or even Angels, Saviors, Priests…They ain't here and they ain't going to save you kid," said the warden.
The man did not respond, he stayed silent.
"Where is it? Huh? Your demon?" mocked the Warden.
Behind the warden a huge explosion occurred killing him on the spot. The door in front of the man and the wall behind the man both got destroyed as the ten rooms that are on both sides of the man's rooms were also destroyed.
There was an instant gush of wind that came from the outside world that had been exposed with the demolition of the prison. More explosions followed suit as the man's face became more clear as his hair flowed upwards due to the wind currents.
He stood up and made his way out into the empty deserts outside. He was currently in Present Day Indus. Outside he saw a group of men with soul beasts that looked like camels but with fur and grey eyes.
"Maxamilian Xu," said a man.
Xu looked at the group of people outside.
"Planning to take down this prison was not a good idea," said a masked man.
"This prison is a fake prison being used to capture slaves. If Indus officials cannot figure that out then I don't know what this country is good for," said Xu.
Another masked man walked in front of the rest and delivered something to Xu. An item. It looked like a cross.
"A present. Someone from your past has apparently been wanting to get in touch with you," said a masked man.
"Ok, I'll deal with it. Our deal is done. I freed most of the prisoners," said Xu.
The masked men left and as they did Xu looked at the cross more carefully. There was a purple dot that resembled gravity and an…X.
"Xeno…" thought Xu as he walked towards the sunset.
