Elena had managed to keep the brothers from fighting, but Killian stomped out of the palace in rage, leaving her with Xavier. "I'm going to my room, please don't follow me." She voiced.
Xavier took a step forward, stretching his hand to grab Elena and stop her, but she turned around slowly, her eyes filled with a quiet sadness that made him freeze in place.
"Please don't," she whispered, her voice barely holding together. "I just need to be alone right now…"
Then she turned and walked away, leaving Xavier rooted to the spot, his hand still lingering in the air.
Xavier raked his hands through his hair in annoyance as he watched her disappear down the hallway, her footsteps echoing in the silence she left behind.
He let out a sharp breath, the weight of everything pressing down on his chest. "Damn it," he muttered under his breath, torn between chasing after her and respecting her need for space.
