Watching Dante leave on the back of Mandibuzz, Jacob was powerless to stop him and could only sigh silently in his heart.
Currently, he only had one Iron Valiant that he could truly rely on in battle. While he could defeat Dante in direct combat, actually preventing his escape was impossible without aerial support.
Only when his Charizard, Salamence, Noivern, and Drakloak evolved and grew stronger would he truly possess the ability to pursue fleeing opponents through the air.
As long as his Pokémon team grew stronger, he would definitely become an overlord of the skies.
After all, isn't it perfectly normal for a Dragon-type specialist to also be a Flying-type master?
The two types went hand in hand naturally.
...
Raya's expression was complex as she watched Dante's departing figure disappear into the darkness, then turned to look at Jacob's Iron Valiant standing victoriously.
On one hand, she was genuinely happy that Jacob had successfully forced Dante away from the battlefield. On the other hand, she was deeply surprised by Jacob's powerful strength and capabilities.
How long had Jacob even been a Trainer to possess such an incredibly powerful Pokémon?
Jacob called this mysterious Pokémon "Iron Valiant"? How and where did he manage to capture such a formidable creature?
These questions swirled in her mind endlessly.
...
Raya temporarily suppressed all the burning questions in her heart. She turned and walked toward Jacob, looking at him with eyes full of expectation and warmth. "Thank you so much for your help with this matter. As a token of my sincere gratitude, feel free to name any conditions or rewards you desire."
As she spoke these words, Raya extended her hand with palm open and facing upward, her meaning naturally self-evident.
She was asking for Darkrai's Poké Ball.
It was finally coming—the moment of confrontation.
Jacob met Raya's expectant gaze directly. Although he had long ago decided to keep Darkrai for himself, he still felt genuinely embarrassed about the situation and could only remain awkwardly silent.
Seeing Jacob's complete lack of reaction, Raya gradually realized something was terribly wrong. The confident smile on her beautiful face froze in place. "Jacob, can you please give me Darkrai's Poké Ball?"
"Aunt Raya," Jacob said, looking directly at her. He slowly shook his head from side to side.
"What do you mean by this, Jacob?" Raya was simultaneously shocked and angry, but she tried her absolute best to keep her tone calm, controlling her turbulent emotions with tremendous effort. "Why are you doing this to me?"
"If you need any special conditions or compensation, just say them directly. There's absolutely no need to do this. If there's anything you're not satisfied with about our arrangement, you can tell me openly. There's no need to damage our relationship over such a matter."
"Aunt Raya, I must obtain this Darkrai for myself," Jacob said firmly. Although he didn't want to completely fall out with Raya and damage their relationship, to complete Cresselia's critically important mission, he had to harden his heart and go through with this.
He had no other choice.
Raya's chest heaved with barely contained emotion, and her face turned ashen white with anger. She truly hadn't expected Jacob to betray her and fall out with her like this. "Very well, you—"
However, before Raya could finish speaking her angry words, the Lunar Wing attached to Iron Valiant suddenly burst forth with dazzling, brilliant light.
A spatial portal instantly formed and opened before them, and a huge suction force surged powerfully toward Raya, Jacob, and Iron Valiant.
Zion and the other nearby allies clearly witnessed this supernatural scene unfolding, but they had absolutely no time to intervene or stop it. They could only watch helplessly as a bright pink glow flashed intensely. By the time they recovered from the blinding light, both Jacob and Raya had already vanished completely from their original positions.
They were simply gone.
...
Inside the magnificent hall of the Dream Realm's ancient castle.
Pink light enveloped the entire vast hall, and Jacob, having just undergone sudden spatial teleportation, felt extremely dizzy. A strong feeling of nausea and the urge to vomit surged up from his stomach into his throat.
He reached out desperately to brace himself against the ground, trying his best to support his unsteady body and stand upright, but his hand unexpectedly met something unexpectedly soft. This contact was accompanied by a surprised, seductive moan, which immediately sobered Jacob up and snapped him back to his senses.
Oh no.
Jacob looked down in horror. He found himself in a very undignified and compromising posture, accidentally propped up directly on top of Raya's body.
His face flushing slightly red with embarrassment, Jacob quickly withdrew his hand and stood up hastily, the entire motion executed in one smooth sequence, as if absolutely nothing inappropriate had happened.
Raya, who had also recovered from the disorienting teleportation, had a deeply flushed face, filled with shame and anger. Even her normally fair neck had turned crimson red like blood.
She stared directly at Jacob with wide eyes, seemingly unable to determine whether Jacob had touched her on purpose or if it was purely an accident.
It was only after several long breaths that Raya finally suppressed the shame and anger burning in her heart. She looked at Jacob with forced calmness and whispered quietly, "Help me up."
Although her tone sounded calm and controlled, her constantly trembling eyelashes completely betrayed that her heart was far from peaceful inside.
"Oh. Okay." Jacob quickly reached out his hand and pulled Raya up to her feet. The lingering softness in his palm reminded Jacob vividly of the accidental feeling from just moments ago.
It had to be honestly said that Raya's figure was truly excellent and well-maintained. Jacob could personally guarantee this assessment.
After helping Raya to her feet, Jacob noticed that Iron Valiant was once again staring intensely at the sky above with a clear look of battle intent in its eyes, seemingly wanting to challenge Cresselia again to test its improved strength.
However, although Iron Valiant was naturally warlike and loved strong opponents, it didn't mean the Pokémon was foolish or reckless.
Ever since its previous encounter and battle with Cresselia, Iron Valiant knew with certainty that with its current strength level, it would definitely not be Cresselia's opponent in a serious fight.
It needed to become significantly stronger before it could properly battle the Lunar Pokémon.
...
Jacob and Raya both looked upward simultaneously. Beneath the galaxy-like splendid dome decorated with countless stars was Cresselia's massive, elegant body, shining brilliantly with pink psychic light, resembling a magnificent galaxy spilling beautifully across the starry sky.
Raya was also witnessing such a magnificent and awe-inspiring sight for the very first time. The beautiful, ethereal castle, and Cresselia herself appearing like a divine deity, made one instinctively want to kneel and worship her.
Although she had so desperately wanted to capture a Legendary Pokémon for her collection, at this overwhelming moment, actually seeing Cresselia in person, she couldn't bring herself to entertain any thoughts whatsoever of capturing her.
Standing in front of Cresselia's divine presence, she only felt that both she and all her Pokémon were incredibly small and insignificant.
"Is this... Cresselia, the Lunar Pokémon?" Raya asked in an awed whisper, looking at Jacob standing beside her.
"Yes," Jacob nodded in confirmation. "I captured Darkrai because I promised Cresselia that I would bring Darkrai back to her safely."
...
"Jacob." Cresselia's voice rang out clearly, still carrying that distinctive hint of ethereal, otherworldly quality. "I sense that you have successfully completed the task I entrusted to you."
As Cresselia's voice sounded throughout the hall, Jacob felt the Poké Ball containing Darkrai at his waist being suddenly enveloped by powerful Psychic energy, flying out from his belt completely uncontrollably.
Immediately afterward, the Poké Ball automatically opened with a flash of light, revealing the heavily injured Darkrai trapped inside. Pink healing light covered Darkrai's entire damaged body, and its serious injuries healed at a visibly rapid rate.
Darkrai, now fully conscious and restored, looked directly at Jacob and Iron Valiant. An angry, vengeful expression appeared on its shadowy face, and it immediately prepared to launch a retaliatory attack against them.
Just as Darkrai was about to unleash its attack, a powerful surge of Psychic force manifested, enveloped Darkrai's entire body completely, and directly teleported it away, making it vanish instantly from its original position.
"Jacob, thank you very much for your invaluable assistance," Cresselia's gentle voice rang out. "Darkrai has caused you considerable trouble and danger. Darkrai is mischievous and disobedient. It secretly left the Dream Realm when its father and I weren't paying close attention, and it killed many innocent humans during its escape. This time, I have sent it directly back to its father. I will ensure its father disciplines it properly and will not allow it to leave the Dream Realm ever again."
Wait... what?
The more Jacob listened carefully, the more he felt something was distinctly off about this explanation. Judging by Cresselia's affectionate tone, this particular Darkrai seemed to actually be her child?
"Cresselia, is this Darkrai your child?" Jacob couldn't help but ask the question directly.
"Yes, that is correct."
Well, that explained everything.
No wonder Cresselia had insisted so strongly that he bring Darkrai back alive instead of simply killing it outright.
Moreover, it wasn't difficult to understand from the impressive abilities Cresselia had displayed that as long as he defeated or captured Darkrai anywhere, she could use the Lunar Wing's connection to teleport him into the Dream Realm at absolutely any time.
This Lunar Wing acted like a mystical lighthouse or a supernatural GPS tracking device—a guiding beacon that allowed Cresselia to locate and summon him whenever she desired!
"Jacob, you have successfully completed the important task I gave you. What reward would you like to receive?" Cresselia's voice sounded once more, looking down benevolently at Jacob from high in the air.
"I want to take your son to see and experience the outside world. Is that acceptable?" Jacob asked cautiously, then gestured toward Raya standing beside him. "This is my companion. Without her valuable assistance and help, I wouldn't have been able to bring your son back safely. I think you should also give her an appropriate reward for her contribution."
...
The divine Legendary Pokémon fell completely silent.
