Tobias sat down beside Edgar and stared at the altar. "I didn't imagine a church would be the first place you would take me when I wouldn't be king anymore. I expected a drink or two. I also didn't expect my mother would be dead."
"If it makes you feel better, I never expected mine would be alive this long," said Edgar.
Tobias chuckled and looked down at his lap. "I can't argue with you there. There are moments when I am surprised you two managed to get along. It gave me hope that the way you two changed, I would be able to have that with my mother."
"I lost the bet. My mother was more stubborn than your mother. I couldn't get my mother to listen to me, not once. I feel relieved that my family doesn't have to bear with her anymore, but it still hurts to lose a parent," said Tobias.
