"Shadow clone?" The Fourth Raikage stared, then erupted in a furious roar. "Killer B, you're trying to sneak out again? Find him!"
BANG! The door exploded inward. Those about to leave were stunned to see Killer B reappear. Despite his reputation for carefree antics, Killer B was Kumogakure's most valuable asset, kept under constant surveillance. He should have been long gone.
"Yo yo check one two! Big Bro, you won't believe what happened!" Killer B, completely unfazed, already knew what had transpired. "I got a big surprise—a request from Konohagakure!"
He pulled out a scroll, waving it around with a nonchalant grin.
The Fourth Raikage's face darkened to a storm cloud. "Stop clowning around! Tell me what those Konoha fools want. If it's another peace proposal with Uchiha Kai, it's a non-starter."
Seeing the Raikage on the verge of exploding, Killer B coughed, attempting to regain some composure. "Big Bro, you're right. Konoha still wants peace talks with Uchiha Kai, but this time it's different. The Third Hokage is proposing a Five Kage Summit."
"That old fox, Hiruzen Sarutobi?" The Fourth Raikage was taken aback. Even his usually volatile temper respected Hiruzen's political acumen. But remembering the loss of the Two-Tails, Kai's intervention in the rebellion, and the smirking samurai, his face turned grim. "That old man is up to something."
"We didn't give Yagura a second thought. Why should we care about Hiruzen's face?"
"Heh, Fourth Raikage, the Third Hokage anticipated your response. I've brought you some urgent intel," a calm voice chuckled from the hallway.
The Fourth Raikage's eyes narrowed, lightning crackling around him as he instantly appeared behind the door. Without hesitation, he unleashed a lightning-charged punch, pulverizing the door to splinters.
BOOM! Lightning crackled, the raw power sending wood flying. A shorter figure, using astonishing legwork, intercepted the Fourth Raikage's blow with a single leg.
Those present were shocked. Dodai's eyebrows shot up, his pupils constricting. "The Third Hokage even sent you, a semi-retired ninja. He's confident about this Five Kage Summit." The Fourth Raikage, for once, lacked his usual arrogance. Only the legendary Chen, Konoha's Hero of the Konoha, could casually block his taijutsu.
"Heh, Fourth Raikage, long time no see," Chen said with a dry chuckle, dissipating the lightning and withdrawing his foot.
"Dodai, have someone clean this up," Chen said, clearly understanding the Raikage's temper. "But I suggest you hear the intel the Third Hokage sent before you clean up."
"Hmph, Konoha's Hero of the Konoha, spit it out. Is there anything more important than the loss of the Two-Tails? If not, don't blame me for blasting you out of here," the Fourth Raikage grumbled. He respected Chen's taijutsu, but that didn't mean he was in a good mood.
Chen didn't explain, tossing a scroll to the Raikage. "Read it yourself. I don't want you to suddenly decide to show off again."
"Hmph, fine. If it's not important, I'll blast you for lurking outside my office," the Raikage said coldly, then unfolded the scroll.
His eyes widened in disbelief.
"What?!"
"Big Bro, what does it say?" Killer B asked impatiently. As soon as he looked, he also exclaimed, "What?!"
Dodai and Samui were equally stunned. Seeing the words "Seven-Tails Captured," they understood the Raikage and Killer B's shock. Uchiha Kai had recently taken the Two-Tails. Now, the Seven-Tails from Takigakure, a village that had largely avoided the war, was also gone. This was completely unexpected.
"Seven days, two tailed beasts. That kid is something else," the Fourth Raikage said, his hand clenching, crushing the scroll. "Tell me, what's the situation in Takigakure? If they want, I'll help them get revenge and turn Uchiha Kai into dust."
Dodai and the others looked at Chen, Samui clenching her fists. For any village, the tailed beast was essential. Kai taking the Seven-Tails would undoubtedly provoke Takigakure.
"You mean Takigakure's reaction?" Chen paused, unzipping his jacket. "I ran into some Takigakure ninjas on the way. They brought Kai a commendation."
