Simon's POV ~
I had been asked countless questions all through the night by Alfie, and now here was Zane with his own.
But truth be told, I had already expected this moment. Just as I had anticipated Alfie's probing, I knew Zane's sharp mind would not rest until he demanded answers too.
"You have to calm down down little tiger. I voiced out with a light chuckle. Will you believe me if I tell you," I continued carefully, my tone measured, "that the reason I triggered the time loop was because I had to urgently attend to something? At the same time, I was merely trying to skip the scene where the doctors would examine you. I only wanted to hear their results afterward. I believed their conclusion would align with mine… only for it to be different."
My gaze remained steady, locked with Zane's piercing eyes, but his expression already betrayed his disbelief. His silence screamed louder than words. He did not trust me....not even a little.
