✿ CHAPTER 38 ✿
"Sir, we're here," his chauffeur said as the car stopped.
When we finally arrived at the restaurant, Leonard stared at the sign board...he had a disgusted look on his face.
"We can still leave if you want to" I whispered.
"Let's go" he got down first before turning round to open the door for me.
I don't get it. Why didn't he just say so if he wasn't comfortable with this place?
I walked towards the restaurant...there were many people here today, it was night time so there were so many lights around the place.
Small plastic stools and tables outside of the restaurant as people slurped on their food. A young lady in a stained apron and a smile on her face had three steaming bowls in one hand as she walked through the crowd, serving people food. You could hear many people talking happily while eating, praising the food.
"Come on!" I smiled as I pulled Leonard towards the crowd...he scanned the whole place, the people who kept talking loudly seemed to irritate him.
"Amelia!" the lady on the stained apron had a huge smile plastered on her face as she spotted me.
I waved a hand at her as she came walking towards us...
"You came today!" she smiled at me.
"Yes, I missed the food here so much!"
"Who is he?" she whispered to me while looking at Leonard who had a stoic face standing behind me.
"Oh, uhm...he's my uhm, friend...he's my friend" I gave a little smile.
Friend? Was he just a friend?
"Oh, he's so handsome!" she chuckled.
"I'm starving !," I said
"Come on in!" She led us into the restaurant where there were also stools and tables with fewer people inside than outside.
I turned to look at Leonard before walking inside.
I felt him pull me back
"Stay beside me," he said calmly while scanning the inside.
"I'm fine okay? It's not my first time here" I pulled my arm away
Why is he treating me like a child?
He became silent as we took our seats but there was an issue....the stool was too small for him, and with his weight, it might surely break...
"Uhm, can we get a stronger stool?" I asked the lady
"Sure, I'll get a chair rather" she smiled as she walked into a little room to bring a chair out for Leonard.
"Do you always eat here?" he finally spoke.
"Yup," I said while cleaning our spoons and forks.
The lady finally came out with a stronger chair as she placed it down for Leonard to sit.
"Thanks," he said as he took his seat beside me...
The lady blushed as she looked at Leonard.
"I, uhm...what would you like to order, Amelia?" she turned to me.
"The usual I normally eat" I smiled.
"How about your uhm, your friend?" she asked
I turned to look at Leonard.
"I'll eat whatever she eats," I said
"Huh? What-whatever she eats?" the lady was stunned
"Yes, why?" Leonard looked up at the lady.
"It's fine, just bring the food for us, and don't forget...extreme pepper this time" I smiled as the lady turned around to go bring my favorite dish.
"What do you mean, extreme pepper?" Leonard raised an eyebrow at me.
"Oh, it's nothing...you'll see yourself" I smirked at him.
