March 25, 2005 – 18:00 (Sri Lanka time)
"WAIT WHAT? WHERE?"
"I'm not sure, probably somewhere in Sri Lanka, as we were at the Wilpattu National Park when we got captured. All I know is that the members captured in South Africa were there to investigate a cell of radicals connected to the mystical djinn weapon plants we destroyed in Greenland in mid-December and are being held by elementals. Jorgie Fluk gave them a tip about a weapon trade in Sri Lanka, which turned out to be a trap."
"It probably will be all over the news shortly if they think they captured you and Alejandro. We need to figure something to get you out of there before they kill you… well… before they try to kill you. I need to tell High Mage Finnas. You may not work for the CMMA, but you know he'll expect me to keep him informed and he might be able to do something. Can I heal you now?"
"No, not yet. Before you reach out to him, please make sure Frank knows before he hears it on the news and gets phone calls from his family. You'll have to talk to Sebastian too. Only a select few at the CMMA know about our twinning bond, so they will expect him to be the one in contact with Frank and I need him to contact Erik and Henry. Hell, Frank's family will probably call him too when it hits the news. They know we're each other's authorized elemental contact and he is family. When you talk to High Mage Finnas, tell him Jourmol has been captured by elementals in South Africa."
Sonylla heard her hologram vibrating.
"Sebastian is calling me right now, they probably heard already. Trust me, girl, I'll make sure nothing happens to your man, but you stay alive."
They ended their conversation and Sonylla answered Sebastian.
"I was in mind-link with her when you called. She doesn't know where she is being held captive."
"Really? It's all over the news here. Trust me, they're bragging about it," said Sebastian while replying to a text message from Stephanie. "Our mother-in-law is calling me right now, hold on, I'll quickly let her know I'm talking to you and will call her back later."
Sonylla watched him talk to Molly while preparing a cup of tea.
"I think you're about to spend your day on the phone," said Sonylla when Sebastian ended his call. "Anyway, they used gas bombs to knock them out. Human guards whipped them to get them to admit they were the witches known as Blue Thunder and Alejandro Salinz. Blue denied it because they aren't witches, and that's how they knew they had been captured by some human authorities."
"Oh wow. The news said they had been captured at the Wilpattu National Park by the local authorities. They haven't said much of anything else, except that they are being held in an undisclosed detention center in Sri Lanka. Blue and Alejandro should continue denying who the authorities think they are, I think, and try to pass for human tourists. Frank is going nuts right now."
"She wanted me to call him and talk to you before it hit the news, but you beat me there. It probably made the news while they were unconscious. I found out when it felt like someone was whipping my back. She also wants you to call Erik and Henry."
"They'll probably reach out to me before I get to them. Did she tell you what she was doing in Sri Lanka? The last time Frank heard from her, she was in India. You both have been dodging capture parties like pros so far, we were hoping it would never happen. Gas bombs you said?"
"Yes, she told me why she was in Sri Lanka."
"Betrayal?"
"Of course. Remember Jorgie?"
Sebastian got up from his seat and cursed.
"That cockroach! I thought we took care of him last year, but of course, the EBEE wasn't going to have him executed or keep him locked up. Alfredino must be screaming in joy, he's been gunning for Blue for years!"
Sonylla told him what Coralis said about the case the Shadow Elementals were working on in South Africa and how she and Alejandro ended up at a National Park in Sri Lanka.
"I remember that case, she told us about it," said Sebastian while reading a text message from Rachel and replying that he'll call her later. "They probably don't know Blue and Alejandro are the ones who destroyed their weapon factory, but they definitively wanted them out of their way. It seems they were onto something bigger than they thought."
"Indeed, I guess that's how you know they were doing something right. I need to tell High Mage Finnas about it. You call Frank and her posse?"
Sebastian agreed and called Frank before he received another phone call.
"Before I tell you what I know, I will tell you this. I didn't watch the news coverage and will not turn on the television. I don't care what the news said about her. You and I know very well that they won't be able to kill her even if they try."
"I think I should do the same thing and turn off the television. I need to stop watching the news. Do you know what led to her capture? She usually can tell when she's followed and she was in India last night. Well, it was morning for her, but you know what I mean."
Sebastian told him what he heard from Sonylla.
"Them again? That means the EBEE is somehow behind the weapon factory they destroyed back in December," said Frank.
"Right, these cockroaches are everywhere. I don't think they knew who'd show up, but I bet they're ecstatic over the outcome. They're laughing now, I'm sure, but you know they won't have the last one. I don't know how she'll do it, but I don't believe the authorities will not be able to keep her in there," said Sebastian.
"They said she and Alejandro will be sentenced to death but didn't give a date. I don't care if she has to kill everyone in there to get out, but I can't lose her, especially not over this idiocy of a witch hunt that should never have happened in the first place. It's nearly impossible to kill her, I know, but we also know there's a way. Hell, she even named me all the ways she could get killed last month."
"She is being held by humans. If she kills everyone in there to get out it's game over for all of us, so she won't do that. I bet it's exactly what the radicals want them to do. According to Sonylla, she's denying they're the witches known as Blue Thunder and Alejandro Salinz."
"Because they aren't witches… Blue doesn't care when people call her a witch… but I bet she's playing on this technicality to make them think they captured the wrong people…"
"Precisely. Sonylla said they got whipped over it, but you know they won't break, not with what's at stake."
