The battlefield stank of scorched flesh and fear. Myric and Rovan's remains still smoked in the ashes of their last stand. But the Flame Bear was not done.
It would not be satisfied with two kills. It didn't want just victory—it wanted obliteration.
The creature's molten eyes scanned the scattered remnants of Kadran's force. Each twitch of its head spread fresh panic through the ranks. Soldiers clutched their weapons tighter. Some backed away unconsciously. Others shook where they stood, sweat pouring from their faces despite the cold sweat of fear.
Then, the beast's gaze found Kadran again.
There was a moment of stillness.
Then the bear roared.
"GRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"
