...
Now the human in front of her had changed. He was no longer the frail-looking human she previously saw as an easy target, but some sort of glass-skinned, green-eyed monster staring at her.
"Have you been speechless when you see me?" – I asked with a smile.
The Omnitrix and its transformations are always speechless when you first see them, after all, no one would expect that a fragile human could become a powerful alien with incredible powers.
"I don't know what you have done, but all I know is that you are still my target, the King's heir" - Yami said.
"And even knowing who I am: do you dare to murder me?" – I asked.
"Work is work" - Yami said.
"I see... Then let's fight, I'll make you change your mind!" – I said with a smile.
"Get ready!" – Yami exclaimed.
Immediately, Yami turned both hands into blades and lunged at me. She probably thought that two blades would be enough to cut me in half but what she didn't know was that I could do exactly the same. So, I transformed my hands into two sharp swords and charged at her.
Yami was surprised by Akira's ability, but she didn't back down. Instead, she aimed her newly formed blades at him. Akira did the same, and when their arms clashed, the sound of clashing metal echoed through the air, and sparks flew from the impact of their "swords."
"You can turn your hands into swords!" – Yami exclaimed.
"That's right, but that's not the only thing I can do!" – I exclaimed.
I quickly retreated, pointed both arms at her, and fired a barrage of crystals that shot out at bullet-like speed. However, Yami wasn't an ordinary person, she was a highly experienced and incredibly powerful assassin. She easily dodged the crystal bullets and slashed back at me. But I was already prepared, and our blades clashed once more.
The battle continued like that for a while, until suddenly, Yami created a pair of wings with her power and soared into the sky.
"If I can't get you on the ground, then I'll attack you from the air" - Yami declared.
She then increased the size of her swords and swooped down at me. I dodged her strikes with ease and fired another round of crystal bullets, but she evaded them effortlessly. The fight, which had been fairly even until now, quickly turned against me. I was forced to constantly dodge her attacks, unable to land a single hit. Yami's speed had increased dramatically, and avoiding her strikes was becoming harder by the second.
"Fuck, the Yami of this universe is stronger than her manga counterpart!" – I thought.
If Yami in her normal form is already like that, then her Darkness version which was capable of destroying planets in the manga... how terrifying must that form be? Anyway, even if I can't defeat Yami like this right now, I will be able to in the future. The Omnitrix contains more than two million aliens, so I highly doubt that, aside from Alien X, there isn't another alien capable of defeating Yami in her Darkness form. In fact, there are probably aliens even stronger than that, though I can't access them just yet.
In any case, I was starting to grow tired of this battle. With Yami in the air, my attacks couldn't reach her, and all I could do was dodge the relentless barrage of massive swords coming at me without mercy.
"Fuck, I need something that could fly, Omnitrix!" – I exclaimed.
[Request accepted! Looking for a suitable alien for the situation in the Omnitrix database!]
"Huh? So easy?" – I asked puzzled.
[Alien found, proceeding to forced transformation!]
From the air, Yami could only see how a green light suddenly surrounded Akira's body temporarily blinding her.
Surprisingly, when the light went out, Akira was no longer that man made of glass from before, but a strange creature that he had never seen before in his entire life.
Its appearance of a marelana (manta ray, but from another planet and with characteristics similar to those of Earth) humanoid, with a thin and aerodynamic body. Its skin is a deep red color with black markings in the form of lines that run along its torso and limbs.
It possessed an elongated head with two large yellow horns, which extend backwards at a sloping angle. Its eyes are large and green. Its back and arms had yellow wing-like membranes. Finally, its tail is also long and flexible, ending in a sharp tip. On his chest he wore what seemed to be the mark of that strange watch that appeared on that human's hand earlier.
"Yes, this is what I needed, haha!" – I exclaimed.
I had transformed into Jetray, an alien capable of flying both in the sky and in space itself. Resistant to vacuum, cold and heat and extremely fast in the air, just the alien I was looking for.
"Who are you?" – Yami asked stunned.
Who was this human? How was it possible that he could transform into those monsters?
"Concentrate, we're fighting!" – I said with a smile.
Then, I flew out into the sky at incredible speed.
As he soared into the sky, all Yami could see was a red speck that passed right in front of her.
"Now I can fly too, let's see who is stronger now!" – I exclaimed.
Yami was surprised, but thanks to her vast experience as an assassin, she calmed down in no time.
"No matter what monster you transform, I will win anyway" – Yami said.
As expected of Yami, it seems that she quickly recovered from her surprise.
"Do you think so? Then check my speed" – I smiled.
I then shot through the air toward Yami at high speed, so fast that she didn't even flinch.
For her part, Yami couldn't move, not because she didn't want to, but because all she could see was a red blur circling around her at an incredible speed, one she couldn't even begin to track. What kind of power was this? Just moments ago, Akira was firing crystal projectiles and forming swords, and now he could fly faster than her eyes could follow. Her, a high-level assassin whose strength surpassed even the elite soldiers of the King's royal guard, and who was said to be able to rival Zastin himself.
And yes, it wasn't an exaggeration to say that Yami could defeat Zastin in battle, assuming Zastin was only using 20% of his full power. That might sound low, but it was no small feat. Zastin was the third strongest being in the entire galaxy. Above him were only [¿?] and Gid. In other words, Yami was easily among the top 10 most powerful individuals in the galaxy… and yet, she couldn't keep up with Akira's speed.
{Note: Although this is true, Yami is still very weak. Do you know the reason about that?}
But don't be surprised, that's the power of the alien Jetray: insane speed in the air and, of course...
"I think it's time for you to go back to the ground. Take this!" - I shouted.
Yami turned around just in time to come face to face with a bright green energy blast rushing toward her. She managed to shield herself at the last second, but the impact was so powerful it sent her crashing straight to the ground.
"Ah!" – Yami exclaimed.
Using her strength, Yami got rid of Jetray's green beam which, luckily, had not caused her any damage.
"I get it, that monster's strength is its speed, but it lacks attack power. The only thing he can do is use that lightning bolt a little annoying" - Yami said.
A little annoying? Any normal person would be left writhing on the ground by Jetray's lightning, but Yami only called it "A little annoying."
"You're right, that's Jetray's weak point" – I nodded.
"Jetray?" – Yami asked confused.
"It's the name I gave him. Do you like it?" – I asked.
"It's horrible" – Yami said.
Ehem, it was Ben who named this alien and honestly, even though the name is bad (which I don't believe), I have no intention of changing the name of any of the aliens that appeared in the Ben 10 series). I'll just name the new ones like Omni blade.
"A bit of a cruel comment. Don't you think so?" – I said pretending to be offended.
"No" – Yami denied.
But without knowing it, a smile appeared on her face. It was only for a few moments, but Akira could notice her.
"It seems that you found it funny" – I said with a smile.
"Don't talk nonsense. Something like that would never make me laugh" – Yami said.
She didn't want to admit it. How could she smiled even for a second? Even she herself couldn't believe it. How many years had it been since she smiled? Has she ever smiled since that incident? Yami didn't remember.
"Do you want to end this now?" – I asked.
"No! My job is to murder you and that's what I'll do!" – Yami denied.
But this time, I saw her less convinced. It seems that my little "plan" is working and she's already starting to doubt.
Once again, Yami was surprised. Had she just hesitated again? What was happening to her?
Yami couldn't understand what was going on. Since her creation, she had never faltered in any of her missions and had always eliminated her targets without hesitation. Throughout her entire career, her victims had begged for mercy, offered her riches, even promised her high-ranking social positions but she had never doubted, never been tempted.
So why was she hesitating now?
Granted, her previous targets had all been people who had committed terrible acts, or those unfortunate enough to offend the wrong individuals. Still, she had never once wavered. But now, she was.
Akira hadn't begged for his life. He hadn't tried to bribe her or flatter her. He had simply offered her a different path: to abandon her life as an assassin and live peacefully on Earth.
Something that simple… and yet she was tempted. Why?Even she didn't know the answer.
"No!" – Yami said suddenly.
"What?" – I asked somewhat confused.
"I must not hesitate, I must fulfill my mission!" – Yami denied.
"Why should you? Is someone forcing you?" – I asked.
"I must do it! It's the only thing I know how to do! That's what I was created for!" – Yami shouted.
She then lunged at Akira at high speed, slashing with her swords.
"Silly girl… I'll knock some sense into you!" – I exclaimed.
I swiftly dodged her attack, but instead of firing the beam again, I tapped the Omnitrix icon and transformed into Four Arms. Without hesitation, I delivered a powerful punch to Yami, who barely managed to brace herself before being slammed into the ground with a thunderous impact.
