Chapter 136 - Chapter 136 – Ada Wong and Return

Clicking of boots on the stone floor echoed throughout the hallway. Slowly but surely it became louder until it reached Leon's cell.

Looking at the cell's window, Leon could see a figure approaching.

'Wesker?' He thought to himself, preparing his mind for anything.

The person stopped in front of his cell, peering through the barred window. Then, they spoke in a soft voice. A voice belonging to a female.

"You're awake," She stated flatly.

Light shone on her face, showing a beautiful asian feature with short black hair and eyes.

She had an elegant and noble air around her, but her gaze was cold and distant.

Having met in the past, Leon quickly identified the new arrival.

"Ada..." He said her name in surprise. "Why-"

"Just a job." She cut him off and opened the metal door.

Entering, she knelt down in front of Leon.

He noticed that Ada was carrying a gun and a small bag. The woman spy smiled and put the bag on the ground.

"Look at your pathetic condition." Ada said as she pulled a pair of pliers from the bag. "Do you want me to save you? Just consider it a bonus for all the help you've given to me."

"You..." Leon glared at the woman. "So it was you who knocked me out?"

"No." She replied with a chuckle. "The one that hit you was your precious Captain Wesker. Well, I watched everything so I can't say that I'm innocent. Anyway, do you want to escape?"

"Why?" He asked, confused by her offer.

"Why would I save you?" She asked back. "You don't need to worry about that. It's a part of the job and nothing else."

She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, "And also you owe me one with this. I hope you are a gentleman and keep your words, Mr. Leon S. Kennedy."

An unsolved debt was a burden that Leon would carry with him for the rest of his life if he didn't pay it off. And he didn't want to owe Ada anything.

Who knew what she would use it for? As a spy, she was crafty and cunning. She could even use it against him later on, so it was best to repay the favor now while he could. Especially since she was offering to free him from his predicament.

"I don't need your help." Leon replied firmly.

"Really?" Ada raised her eyebrows and looked at Leon with a hint of mockery. "You can't escape even if you try to break out of these chains. They're specially made by Umbrella to hold their B.O.W."

"So what are you gonna do? Cut it off with those pliers?"

"Yes." Ada smirked and grabbed the chains with her gloved hand. She put the chain between the two metal of the pliers.

With a few movements, she cut through the chain easily, freeing Leon.

"See?" Ada threw away the tool and stood up, looking at him with an amused expression. "Now let's go. The way out is not that far and there is no one here. We can just walk away from here and pretend this never happened."

Leon's face twisted into a frown and he said nothing as he watched Ada. He was still suspicious of her motives.

'Why would she want to help me escape? Is this some kind of trap? Or does she have ulterior motives behind her actions?' He thought inwardly, trying to figure out Ada's true intention.

"I'll go alone. Just tell me where my gear is." He replied.

He didn't want to be involved in her plans or get caught up in anything that could potentially put his life at risk.

Rolling her eyes, Ada pointed in one direction.

"It's down this way, in the warehouse." She told him. "It's unguarded but the guard post is close. You should be quick. If you want me to help you get out of here, follow me now. Otherwise I'll be going now."

With that, she left the cell. Leon was still suspicious of Ada, but he didn't have much choice. He needed to find his weapon and ammunition to fight against Wesker, so he followed her out of the prison.

As they walked down the dark corridor, Ada suddenly stopped and turned to him.

"By the way, how's the boy doing?"

"Who?"

"The one who visited Raccoon City before." She said, turning to look at Leon.

Leon knew exactly who she meant.

"You mean that kid? I don't know, and I don't care." He replied with an uncaring tone. "Why did you ask?"

"I don't care either. Just curious."

Leon didn't believe her words.

He wanted to question her more, but they arrived at the warehouse before he could do so.

Ada pushed open the large double doors and stepped inside.

It was a large empty space with concrete walls, high ceiling and dim lighting. There were shelves along the side walls, filled with all sorts of old items.

From the cobwebs and dust that filled the area, it was clear that the room hadn't been used for quite some time now. In fact, it seemed like it had been abandoned long ago.

Sitting on one of the shelves was an item. A bag, a knife, and a flashlight. Everything that was left from his capture.

"Those are mine." Leon quickly grabbed it.

"Ready to leave?" Ada said and walked toward another door.

"Thanks." Leon muttered as they passed through the doorway.

Ada smiled and shrugged. "It's just part of the job. You owe me nothing for this. Though if you can help me out of a bind sometime, it would be appreciated."

"Sure." Leon answered. "What do you want me to do?"

"Nothing much." She smiled mysteriously, "You will know when I ask for it."
