You don't even have to look at it to provoke me, and you don't even know who I am." Rin said coldly, his voice thick with disdain an even sharper tone than Ribas's mockery just moments earlier. As he spoke, he pointed directly to the Jolly Roger flying above his pirate ship, signaling the Bellamy Pirates to take a closer look and recognize who they had dared to cross.
"I remember now! You, you're Rin Pandora! The youngest pirate to be named one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea!" Saqis, the dagger-wielding officer of the Bellamy Pirates, suddenly shouted. Jolted by the lightning strike earlier and now struck by memory, his eyes widened with horror. He recalled seeing Rin's name and bounty on a recently updated bounty poster from the World Government he hadn't expected to ever meet him in person, much less in such disastrous circumstances. The realization hit him death was unavoidable today.
"What—what?! You're saying he's also one of the Shichibukai? Like Lord Doflamingo?" Bellamy's already shaken heart sank to an icy depth. Just moments ago, he had thought Rin was some no-name pirate wandering through the New World but now, hearing that he was on the same level as his idol, Doflamingo, crushed all hope. Bellamy had admired and modeled himself after Doflamingo he'd never imagined he would try to rob a fellow Warlord's crew.
"Hmph, now you're surprised? Weren't you just shouting and cheering a second ago?" Anilu sneered, descending slowly from the sky with arcs of electricity still faintly crackling around his body. As he landed beside Rin, the dark clouds overhead that had been summoned by his powers dispersed. He looked on smugly. When he had overheard the Bellamy crew's arrogant declarations earlier, he already knew they had sealed their own fates.
"Lord Rin! I-I didn't recognize you, please forgive me! We were just passing by, just passing through!" Bellamy stammered pitifully. The same man who had been boasting and rallying his men minutes earlier was now bowing and babbling excuses. His groveling was laughably transparent he was clearly trying to talk his way out.
"Passing by? That's the excuse you're going with?" Rin scoffed, staring at him with an expression of detached amusement. He wanted to see just how far Bellamy would go to try and weasel out of this situation.
"Captain, don't lower yourself to beg this guy! Even if we die, we die fighting, it's better than groveling!" shouted Ribas, the ship's gunner, who had clearly given up hope of survival. Realizing that his earlier arrogance had marked him for death, he now embraced his fate boldly. He glared at Rin, refusing to kneel, ready to go down swinging.
"Oh? Is that so?" Rin said flatly. With a flick of his hand, a blade of pure light formed in the air and slashed out across the deck in a swift arc. The beam struck Ribas before he could react his body seized, and blood burst from his neck like a geyser. He collapsed instantly, lifeless, a spray of crimson rising three meters high like a fountain. Bellamy and Saqis both froze. They hadn't even seen Rin move. If they hadn't yielded earlier, their fate would have been the same.
"Lord Rin we have a whole stock of cannon shells and treasure on board! If you don't mind, please take it as a gift!" Bellamy quickly switched to his backup plan bribery. He knelt down and tried to offer the contents of their hold as tribute, hoping that wealth could save him where words had failed.
"Is that so? But the thing is I'm not lacking in Bailey." Rin smiled, his tone colder than before. Bellamy's pitiful desperation was starting to amuse him. Rin's words, however, rang with a darker truth Hody Jones and Vander Decken IX had both once tried to use Bailey and offerings to save themselves from Rin's wrath, but in the end, they had been executed just the same. Rin didn't lack treasure.what he needed now were worthy men, strong allies. And Bellamy, along with Saqis, failed that test. Like the others before them, they were destined to die.
"Then, Rin-sama, just tell me what you want, and I'll go get it for you right away!" Bellamy said in a soft, almost groveling tone. He now fully understood that a figure like Rin one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, known for his terrifying strength and unpredictable nature clearly had no need for Bailey or trinkets. Bellamy had nothing truly valuable to offer him, so all he could do now was try to serve him to appease him, to delay death.
"Grab it for me? And what if what I want" Rin's voice turned icy as he slowly stepped forward, eyes glowing faintly with the energy of light, " is your life? Are you going to go snatch that for me too?" Rin made no effort to mask his intent. He had already decided that Bellamy was going to die today. What disgusted him most wasn't Bellamy's groveling but his sheer lack of remorse. That he could still speak of robbing, after all the civilians he and his crew had harmed after all the atrocities committed in Doflamingo's name. Anilu, standing to Rin's right, felt a chill run through him. He had seen Rin angry before but this was different. This was judgment.
…
"Rin Pandora! I'm warning you don't push your luck! If you lay a hand on me, Lord Doflamingo won't let you get away with it!" Bellamy suddenly shouted, his pride erupting beneath the weight of Rin's scorn. His voice cracked, not just from fear but from frustration. Though his status was low in Doflamingo's hierarchy, he still flew the flag of the Donquixote Pirates. He wasn't some no-name grunt to be humiliated like this. He wasn't Rin's subordinate he was Doflamingo's man. If Rin dared to kill him, even if they were both Warlords under the World Government, there would be consequences. Doflamingo wasn't known for mercy.
...
"Doflamingo?" Rin's voice turned deathly low, his gaze piercing through Bellamy like a blade. "Let me tell you something, if he were standing here in front of me right now, I'd still kill you." His aura surged as he spoke, a blinding flare of light bursting around him. What Rin hated more than cruelty was the way men like Bellamy used Doflamingo's name as a shield while slaughtering innocents, destroying lives in small towns and helpless islands across the Grand Line. Rin wasn't wrong to say this. He had walked among the wreckage Bellamy left behind. And whether Doflamingo stood with him or not, Rin would not let Bellamy leave this ship alive.
"You, you'll regret this!" Bellamy shouted, though even he could hear the hollow echo in his own voice. He was outmatched he knew it. But threats were all he had left.
"I, Rin Pandora, never regret anything I do." Rin answered sharply, without hesitation. Each word hit like a thunderclap. There was no fear, no uncertainty in his tone only the resolute will of someone who had long since embraced the weight of his decisions.
"Captain, enough talking! If we're going to die anyway, we might as well go out swinging!" Saqis, who had remained silent up until now, finally stepped forward. He gritted his teeth and reached for his weapon the ornate dagger strapped to his waist. He understood clearly that Rin had already passed judgment. If death was inevitable, they might at least strike back, and perhaps just perhaps create a crack in Rin's composure. It was a desperate move, but to Saqis, fighting was the only dignity left to claim.
"Anilu," Rin said calmly, turning just slightly toward his companion. "Handle the one with the dagger. But remember I want him alive." His voice did not rise, but it was as clear and cutting as ever. It was strange after all his talk of death, Rin suddenly wanted one of them to survive. The contradiction puzzled Anilu for a moment, but he didn't question it. When Rin gave orders, they were followed. And if Rin wanted Saqis alive, it wasn't out of mercy, it was because Rin had already decided Saqis might still serve a purpose.
