Her heart raced wildly and faster in her chest as she didn't know what to do or say. He was holding her hand so possessively.
Her face began to heat up as she could feel his piercing gaze on her.
"How are you feeling now wife?" He asked, his voice devoid of emotions.
Her heart somersaulted the moment she heard his words. Did she just hear him call her wife? Her cheeks blushed red in slight embarrassment at his gaze and his words. His voice was not only deep but thick that she couldn't help but nod meekly.
Logan cocked his eyebrows at her.
She also stared at him confused.
Why was he staring at her like that? She mused and tried to sit up, but Logan was quick to press the button on the bed and the bed slowly rose up with Hannah to make her comfortable.
"I wasn't shot right?" She suddenly asked making Logan eyes gleamed slightly before it became unreadable.
"You don't remember?" He asked and Hannah shook her head as a sign of no. She doesn't remember being shot because she wasn't shot. But she just wanted confirmation from him. "Do you know who would have pulled the trigger?" She asked with pursed lips.
Logan didn't answer her and changed the topic.
"I will be leaving for Germany tomorrow and I want you know that if you pull any stunt you'd be punished. " He said in a low threatening tone that sent shivers down her spine.
Hannah gulped hard and nervous. She knew he wasn't just making a mere threat, but he will definitely punish her like the last time. She suddenly shudder when she remembered his last punishment. Even though he had promised not to punish her , she still didn't dare not to defy him. Who knows what kind of crazy stunt he'd pull and punish her.
What if he locks her in the basement or punish her by starving her to death? Her eyes dilated and she quickly nodded her head before saying,
"I won't pull any stunt".
"Good girl". He said and ruffled her hair softly.
"Get some rest wife. " He said and slowly pushed the bed back to its original position and Hannah closed her eyes to sleep. Once she was asleep, Logan stood up and left the ward. The moment he stepped out of the ward, Charles suddenly walked towards him.
"How is she ?" Charles asked and Logan said she was fine before changing the topic swiftly,
"What did you find out? Who shot that gun?" He asked.
"It was one of Gregor's men. He was aiming at killing you, so they used your wife as a bait to attack you." Charles explained briefly.
Logan wasn't surprised as he had expected this. But for what reasons? His eyes narrowed dangerously but he didn't say anything else and hung up.
Meanwhile,Charles was at a five star restaurant, he wanted to do some work there before he prepares to travel with Logan tomorrow night. While he was seated there, he didn't notice a familiar somebody had entered into the restaurant.
It was Carie. Carie came to restaurant to get some spicy food and chicken before heading to the airport. She walked past a certain someone unknowningly. Charles seems to have noticed her but he didn't stand up or call unto her until she was done. Carie bought some food and make some payments, then turned around to leave when she suddenly saw him.
She froze. She was clearly shocked to her bones as she didn't expect to see him here. The last time she had tried to talk to him, she ended getting embarrassed publicly and she didn't want that to happen. And moreover, she'd be heading to Germany for work. She was supposed to go to London, but for some reasons she wanted to go to Germany and work there. Maybe her mum was right, she to explain things to him. She will try her luck once again and if he refuses, then she will move on and kill every thoughts of being with him again.
With that thought in mind, she walked towards his table and stood in front of him with a confident aura. Charles's Adam Apple bobbed up and down but he didn't say anything and stared coldly at her.
"Can I have a moment with you?" She asked with a soft voice. But Charles didn't answer for a while before saying heartlessly,
"The moment you ended our relationship, my love for you cease to exist, so there is no point of us talking". With that said, he stood up, picked up his laptop and walked away.
Pain and hurt could be seen in her eyes. How could he do this to her? Just because she broke up with him, he is abandoning her? Her eyes slowly narrowed; could it be the reason why that Gregor man had told her to break up with her man was because of this? So Charles doesn't love her as he has always claim?
So many thoughts ran through her head and she clenched her fists tightly to avoid the tears from streaming down her cheeks. She closed her eyes tightly feeling the sharp pain that burn her eyes before opening it and walked out of the restaurant.
Meanwhile, at the desert,
Brielle was still walking round the lonely desert. She had a deep frown on her face. Why on earth does Gregor wants to train her to become an assassin? What for? She mused as she thought of so many ways to seduce Gregor.
They will be going to Germany tomorrow and she still don't know how to seduce him? What can she do??? Arghh!! She ruffled her reddish hair and threw away the gun to the ground. If only she could truly kill Hannah. Her eyes suddenly narrowed when she saw one of the men staring at her with a calculated gaze.
"Something is wrong". She muttered under her breath.
