"Huh? Know her?! Why? What for?" Carie had so many thoughts swirling through her head.
Isn't her father not the governor in charge of Veloca state? So what the hell is Sophie doing in Sutherland city? What is going on?
Carie stared deeply into Sophie's brown eyes as though trying to see through her before asking her,
"Why do you want to know me?"
Sophie bit her lips hard before speaking,
"Apparently, president Santos and his family summoned us back to the capital for some reasons best known to him. So we moved here last week and since I have no friends around the capital unlike veloca where my people are, I decided to come look for you since your father is the ambassador for the president. " She explained calmly.
Then who is in charge of Veloca? Carie asked with a narrowed gaze.
Carie smiled and replied honestly.
"One of my cousins."She said with a bright smile.
And more reasons why she smiled brighter was because her father told her that for her to become the lady of the country or In a higher position close to the president, she must fix a marriage alliance with Logan Emerson. So Sophie was extremely happy when she heard this. So she made her research about Logan and that was how she get to know that Logan had an ex fiance known as Scarlett Boswell and also he is in a current contract marriage with some low class girl with no background.
When she find out, she had seek her mother's opinion on what to do. Ever since she saw Logan's introduction party with that low class girl, and the way the party was trending all over social media, she suddenly had the zeal to do a wedding like that and more.
Even though she doesn't know Logan personally, she can always get help and connections. She thought with a smile and the only way to get to a man is through his sister. Apart from food, men like Logan cherished their sisters alot. She thought. And she also made research on Carie and also find out that Carie was dating Charles, her brother's best friend. But now, they are broken up. Well, that isn't her concern, her main target is Logan.
"Hmmm, then I will fix a date for us to meet another time. I will be traveling on a business trip tonight to Germany". Carie said and stood up before picking up her handbag to leave. While Sophie remained seated on the chair.
"Alright then, safe trip." She said as she picked carie's remaining cocktail and sipped from it. Carie just narrowed her eyes and was about to leave when Sophie spoke,
"Can I get your contact?" She alees with a sweet voice that could enchant anyone.
Caroline was stunned on hearing her words. When had they gone from talking to exchanging contacts, well unfortunately for her, she wont give out her number just because she us the governor's daughter.
"No". She rejected coldly and left the restaurant without waiting for Sophie's comment. Of, course Sophie already predicted her answer.
Well, that doesn't concern her. She will work her way into Logan's life. She thought with a sadistic smile.
In a huge villa located at the Southern part of the city,
Maids could be seen doing their daily activities as some carried food to and fro to the kitchen to cook.
In a huge hall room,
Seated was a man in his late forties. His presence alone commanded the room — a silent force that could make even the bravest tremble. Dressed in a crisp white shirt and tailored black pants, he sat upon a throne-like chair with an air of unquestionable authority. He was President Winter Santos, the current leader whose very name carried both fear and respect. He put on airs of a king, if one wasn't careful, try could mistake him for a royal king or a general in a kingdom.
"Hehe".
"Good evening Your Excellency". Governor Bills greeted head bow before seating down in front of the president.
President Winter waved his hand dismissively as he spoke, his voice sounded deep and authoritative.
"I'm pleased with the fact that you decided to honor me by coming to the capital city. I'm pleased." President Winter said with bright smile.
Governor Bills shook his head. "It's nothing president, once a call from a president twice answer. " He said with a small chuckle. The reason why President winter had invited the governor from Velora was because he believes the governor was in a good position to make the Emersons realize how much they are missed in the political system.
He knew Grandpa Emerson had long time ago refused to join the ministers or governors. But that man seems adamant. He believes that if Mr Emerson becomes equipped in the political system, the old nag would have no choice but to fix a marriage for his grandson with an elite woman in the upper class in the political system rather than business, but who would have thought the old nag will bring a low class girl to be the wife of his grandson.
"Damn that old man, he wanted Logan to be his daughter's husband. If Logan doesn't remember, but Sophie does. It's only a matter of time before Logan knows. " President winter had a crooked smile on his lips.
Governor Bills also smiled. No one except him and the president knows that Sophie is president Winter's biological daughter. She was hidden from the world for a while when there was a power struggle of who the next president will be after the demise of old Santos.
"What are the Fledds up to?" President Winter asked with a dangerous tone. The Fledds were his opponents and were against his leadership to rule over Sutherland. But now, not anymore. Though, the Fledds might have some under world connections, but the president himself has Logan Emerson to bring them down, that is why he had brought the Governor to come look for ways to make the Emersons end the so called marriage with that low class girl and let them fix a marriage for Logan and Sophie.
