Chapter 148 - Chapter 148: Yun Ze's Past

In a conference room at the Star Hotel in Qicheng City.

Large hotels usually set up conference rooms and rent them out for guests to discuss important matters.

Yun Ze and Gu Yue Na sat in the main seats, Di Tian sat in the chief seat on the left, and the Five Elements Qilin sat in the chief seat on the right.

"I will emphasize this one more time: Yun Ze has the same status as me. If anyone dares to disrespect him or not follow his commands, don't blame me for being impolite."

Gu Yue Na spoke seriously, a trace of Dragon God aura spreading out, causing all the Soul Beasts to feel pressure.

She didn't directly state that Yun Ze was from another world. When discussing his identity, she simply used the phrase, "closely related to the Dragon God."

She would be the Dragon God in the future, so being closely related to her was not a lie, but a fact.

"Yes," the Soul Beasts responded. Even without Gu Yue Na saying it, they all held a measure of respect for Yun Ze.

The scene of him killing the Fire-Scaled Golden Python with only two attacks was too shocking, making it difficult for them not to feel awe and fear to provoke him casually.

"Next, for the second matter, you will be living in the human world from now on, so you should all have names."

"My idea is to use Lin (麟, Qilin) as the surname, and then decide the given name according to your cultivation age, from highest to lowest."

"For example, the Five Elements Qilin, who has the highest cultivation age among the ten of you, ranking first, will be called Lin Yi (麟一, Lin One)."

"The Dragon Tortoise ranks second in age, so it will be called Lin Er (麟二, Lin Two), and so on. What do you all think?" Gu Yue Na asked.

The Soul Beasts muttered softly, finding the idea decent—simple and easy to remember. They all nodded in agreement.

The meeting lasted for nearly half an hour, during which several arrangements were made. It was decided that they would return to the Douluo Continent with Lin Yi and the others after five months.

Yun Ze and Gu Yue Na did not plan to return with the Federation envoy delegation, intending to return earlier.

Five months would be enough time for them to complete the instrument to accommodate the Dragon Soul and to briefly tour the Star Luo Continent.

After touring the Star Luo Continent, there would be no need for the two of them to stay any longer.

It would still be Yun Ze and Gu Yue Na traveling alone, while Di Tian would lead Lin Yi, Lin Er, and the others to adapt to human society.

The next day, after leaving Qicheng City, Yun Ze and Gu Yue Na began their tour of Star Luo.

Yun Ze originally intended to travel without a plan, going wherever they ended up, with no specific destination.

However, Gu Yue Na enthusiastically made a plan, gathering information from various sources to create a tourist guide.

Her understanding of "touring" was clearly not the same as Yun Ze's.

Seeing the effort Gu Yue Na had put into the preparation, Yun Ze didn't want to disappoint her expectations, so he tacitly approved her plan.

Gu Yue Na still drove, with Yun Ze in the passenger seat. When he had nothing to do, he would engrave Soul Tool arrays.

He was able to multitask. While engraving the array, he could chat with Gu Yue Na and look at the scenery outside the window.

The Soul Tool array he was engraving was one he had designed himself; he was very familiar with it and knew exactly how to engrave it without needing to look.

"What is this? I don't think this Dragon Sky Mountain will be fun at all," Gu Yue Na complained with some dissatisfaction after reaching the mountaintop.

The first tourist attraction they visited was Dragon Sky Mountain, which was rumored to be one of the top twenty most popular tourist destinations in the Star Luo Empire.

"With our strength, climbing a mountain is as easy as drinking water, and we can also fly. We've grown tired of seeing high-altitude scenery, so naturally, you'd find this uninteresting."

Seeing Gu Yue Na's disappointed expression, Yun Ze shook his head and laughed. He wasn't disappointed because he hadn't had any expectations to begin with.

"Is that so?" Gu Yue Na looked around. The tourists who had climbed up were all panting, exhausted.

But she and Yun Ze were neither flushed nor breathless, feeling about the same as if they had just jogged normally.

"Does it have to be tiring to be fun?" Gu Yue Na muttered, the look of confusion on her delicate face appearing somewhat adorable and naive.

"Not necessarily. Climbing a mountain is about enjoying the process, but it's also about enjoying the night view from the summit."

"Climbing the mountain might be uninteresting to us, but the night view might be quite interesting," Yun Ze said.

Gu Yue Na's eyes lit up. She looked at the sky; it was already dusk, and night wasn't far off.

The Dragon Sky Mountain summit was quite large, covered in green grass, with no buildings or tall trees, only rows of tents.

These tents were already set up. If needed, one could simply pay rent for them. Barbecues and food were also available for rent or purchase.

Yun Ze and Gu Yue Na rented a tent close to the mountain edge and sat on the grass grilling food.

There were many people on the summit, over a hundred tourists spending the night here. Laughter filled the air, and many people were barbecuing.

The area where the two of them were was relatively quiet. Gu Yue Na used her Domain-level mental power to isolate the other sounds.

"Mmm..." After eating a slice of grilled meat, Gu Yue Na's face was filled with satisfaction, drawing out the final sound.

"This is so delicious! I didn't expect you to have this skill. Amazing!"

Gu Yue Na smiled sweetly, her purple eyes sparkling, with oil still clinging to the corner of her mouth, as she gave Yun Ze a thumbs-up.

It wasn't false praise; it was genuinely delicious, easily on par with top chefs.

"It's been a long time since I cooked. Looks like I still have the touch," Yun Ze chuckled, flipping the food, brushing on oil, and sprinkling seasoning, appearing very skilled.

"Not just still have the touch—it couldn't be better," Gu Yue Na praised sincerely.

Her expression was like someone who had discovered a new continent; she hadn't expected Yun Ze to be such a good cook.

"Your technique looks so professional. Did you learn this before?" Gu Yue Na asked curiously.

"I learned it from my father when I was a child. When we were mortals, he did the cooking for our family of three, and I helped out on the side."

"I was always there when he cooked, and by watching a lot, I picked up some cooking skills," Yun Ze explained.

"So that's how it is."

"By the way, when you say 'mortals,' you mean ordinary humans, right? But you are clearly a phoenix, so why would you say 'when we were mortals'?"

"Did you not have your phoenix bloodline naturally from birth?" Gu Yue Na looked confused.

"Of course, I had it from birth; it's just that I had a period of experience as a mortal," Yun Ze said with a slight laugh.

Gu Yue Na immediately perked up, looking at Yun Ze with anticipation: "Can you tell me about your experience as a mortal?"

"This is actually not something that can't be told. I'll tell you about it."

"Oh, good!" Gu Yue Na exclaimed happily, moving closer to Yun Ze and simultaneously strengthening the mental isolation to ensure their conversation wouldn't be overheard.

"From the moment I was born, my father used great divine power to seal the bloodline within my body."

"At the same time, my age was sealed. As long as the seal wasn't lifted, I would forever remain in the state of a newborn."

"Why would he do that?" Gu Yue Na asked, puzzled, feeling that this wasn't a good thing for Yun Ze.

Yun Ze smiled, saying, "My father didn't do this to harm me, nor was there any specific benefit. He just wanted me to experience the life of a mortal."

Gu Yue Na still didn't understand. What did experiencing the life of a mortal have to do with sealing the bloodline?

Although she was confused, she didn't interrupt Yun Ze again, and listened quietly.
