Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: Extreme Ambush — The Space Token

The remaining 7-on-7 matches no longer needed to be held. The Sun Moon Royal Academy had already accumulated five points, while the following 7-on-7 match was only worth four.

Even if Shrek Academy won all of those points, they still couldn't surpass five — so there was no reason to continue.

Besides, with Yunze and Gu Yuena on the field, Shrek Academy basically had no chance of winning anyway.

"Looks like the Sun Moon Royal Academy really is stronger. This Shrek Academy isn't all that impressive after all."

"Yeah, judging by this match, Shrek Academy doesn't seem that great. Monster Academy feels even stronger than them."

"Seems like Shrek Academy's glory days are over — they're not as legendary as people say."

The audience discussed animatedly, voicing their opinions on the battle.

Once the match ended, the Shrek Academy team left the arena right away — they didn't stay a moment longer. The Continental Youth Soul Master Tournament had dealt a heavy blow to them.Whether in the individual matches, two-on-two battles, or team fights, they hadn't managed to win a single championship.

Their results were good, but without a championship title, that still counted as failure for Shrek Academy. The academy had always been known for producing top-tier students, yet even their best hadn't managed to take first place — the blow to their pride was immense.

After a day of rest, the team finals between Sun Moon Royal Academy and Monster Academy began. In the one-on-one battles, Sun Moon earned two points; in the two-on-two, they gained another two — totaling four points. That meant they still had to play the 7-on-7 match.

During the team battle, Monster Academy's coordination was flawless, showing formidable strength that gave the Sun Moon side serious trouble. If it hadn't been for Yunze and Gu Yuena, the victory might've gone to Monster Academy.

After a spectacular match, the Sun Moon Royal Academy ultimately triumphed, taking the team championship. The prize was seven pieces of Level-7 Soulsteel, one for each member — a generous reward indeed.

With that, all of Sun Moon Royal Academy's competitions came to an end.The following matches had nothing more to do with them.

The next day after the tournament, Yunze and Gu Yuena left Star Luo City, setting out alone to travel the continent.

"Let's head that way," Gu Yuena said, pointing in a certain direction once they were outside the city.

They hadn't discussed any specific destination before — they were just wandering freely.

"Why that way?" Yunze asked. Her tone didn't sound like a random choice.

Gu Yuena shook her head, slightly dazed."I don't know. But I just feel like something over there is calling to me… something is attracting me."

Yunze looked in the direction she indicated, thought for a moment, and nodded."Alright. Let's go that way. If your feeling's right, there might be something there connected to you — maybe even a great opportunity."

"Really?" Gu Yuena's eyes brightened, and a spark of excitement lit up in her heart.

"If your intuition isn't wrong, I'd say so," Yunze replied, taking out a mecha from his storage ring.

It was a purple-class mecha, a little over six meters tall. Its combat ability wasn't great — it was mainly used for travel, with space for two passengers.

"Let's go. We'll find out once we get there. Stay alert along the way — if you sense anything strange, tell me right away."

"Got it." Gu Yuena nodded, entering the mecha with Yunze. Together, they flew off into the distance.

Once they had left, a black-robed man silently appeared atop the city wall. The corners of his mouth lifted into a cold, sinister smile.

"How bold… daring to travel alone, are we?"

With a flicker, his figure vanished, leaving no trace behind. The nearby guards hadn't noticed a thing — it was as if he'd never been there at all.

The mecha cruised about five hundred meters above the ground, flying swiftly as the scenery blurred beneath them.

"This mecha's really fun!" Gu Yuena said cheerfully inside. It was her first time piloting a mecha, and she found it fascinating — like a child who'd just received a new toy.

Yunze sat in the co-pilot seat, watching the landscape scroll by as he let her practice.

Then — a sudden, intense sense of danger surged through him.His expression hardened as he quickly pulled two black tokens from his storage ring.

"Someone's coming to kill us. Get ready to run," he said calmly, handing one of the tokens to Gu Yuena.

"What? Someone's trying to kill us?" she exclaimed, hurriedly checking the mecha's radar — but there was no sign of any approaching soul masters.

"This person's at the Extreme Douluo level," Yunze explained. "The radar can't detect him."

"Extreme Douluo?!" Gu Yuena's face changed drastically — she hadn't expected to encounter one so soon.

"Use the token now, or we're in real trouble," Yunze said urgently.

"Right!"

Without hesitation, Gu Yuena activated her token alongside Yunze.

The moment the tokens were triggered, the space around them began to twist violently — and both of them vanished from the cockpit.

The now-empty purple mecha plummeted downward — but before it hit the ground, it suddenly stopped midair.

The black-robed man had appeared beside it, holding it up effortlessly with his soul power.

"What's with that sudden space fluctuation?"

He frowned deeply, sensing the residual ripples in the air. With a squeeze of his palm, the mecha crumbled into dust — and indeed, no one was inside.

He had clearly felt two immense bursts of space energy just moments earlier — that power had transported them away.

But such an intense space fluctuation could only come from someone at the Extreme Douluo level…Yet he hadn't sensed any Extreme Douluo presence near that mecha before.

"What on earth happened?"

The man scowled, unable to make sense of it.He tossed aside the crushed remnants of the mecha and unleashed his spiritual power, sweeping the entire area.

But there was nothing — not a trace of Yunze, Gu Yuena, or any powerful aura.

"Damn it!"

He growled in frustration — his prey had escaped right from under his nose.

If he'd known they had a means of teleportation, he would've struck sooner instead of waiting until they were further away.

Five hundred li (about 250 km) away, Yunze and Gu Yuena emerged from a space portal.

"Di Tian's space power really came in handy," Gu Yuena said with a smile of relief.Without the tokens infused with Di Tian's spatial energy, they would've been dead for sure.

Yunze chuckled. "Yeah, this token's amazing — sends us five hundred li in an instant."

The black token was one of three types of soul tools he had developed — capable of storing space energy.

Once activated, it consumed none of their own power, but it was a single-use item.

To recharge it, Di Tian himself would have to infuse it with spatial energy again.
