After a brief history lesson on the 6th Division, Ginrei Kuchiki introduced Byakuya Kuchiki to Yusuke Uchiha.
"This is our Kuchiki clan's eldest grandson, Byakuya Kuchiki. He will eventually inherit the entire Kuchiki family."
Ginrei Kuchiki sighed. "His father, Sōjun, died unexpectedly in battle, creating a leadership gap within the Kuchiki clan. Otherwise, given my age, I would have stepped down as captain of the 6th Division long ago."
Before Yusuke Uchiha's arrival, the 6th Division had always been led by members of the Kuchiki family; every captain was the head of the Kuchiki family. Their noble status made them ideally suited to protecting the nobility.
However, the death of Byakuya Kuchiki's father left Ginrei Kuchiki without a clear successor. If he had lived, Sōjun Kuchiki would have been the current captain.
"Byakuya will soon officially join the Gotei 13. As the future head of the Kuchiki family, he will inevitably serve in the 6th Division. I would appreciate it if you would mentor him, Captain Uchiha," Ginrei Kuchiki said, bowing.
With Yusuke Uchiha now officially leading the 6th Division, Byakuya Kuchiki's career would benefit greatly from Yusuke Uchiha's guidance.
Ginrei Kuchiki's concern for his grandson was evident in his direct request, a rare display of humility from the usually reserved Kuchiki family. This also subtly indicated Ginrei Kuchiki's high regard for Yusuke Uchiha, seeing him as a valuable ally.
Yusuke Uchiha readily agreed; cultivating a strong relationship with the Kuchiki clan would be beneficial during his long stay in Soul Society.
After lunch, Ginrei Kuchiki retired to rest, leaving Kōga Kuchiki to show Yusuke Uchiha around the estate.
They found Byakuya Kuchiki training in the garden, using his Shikai to refine his spiritual pressure.
"Scatter, Senbonzakura!"
Byakuya Kuchiki's Zanpakutō, Senbonzakura, transformed into countless pink blades resembling cherry blossom petals, swirling gracefully through the garden.
This reminded Yusuke Uchiha of his sister, Izumi, whose weapon, the Kusanagi sword "Kikyō Senraku Sakura," produced a similar effect of pink energy when wielded.
"Byakuya is exceptionally talented. He will undoubtedly master Bankai and become a captain of the Gotei 13," Yusuke Uchiha remarked.
Kōga Kuchiki nodded in agreement.
Suddenly, a black shadow appeared, moving incredibly fast, breaking through the Senbonzakura petals and stopping before Byakuya Kuchiki.
Yusuke Uchiha was about to intervene, but sensing no hostile intent in the shadow's spiritual pressure, he hesitated.
Byakuya Kuchiki, usually calm, reacted with anger and irritation. "It's you again, you damn…"
For someone as refined as Byakuya Kuchiki to use such language, the shadow must be a significant source of frustration.
Using Shunpo, Byakuya Kuchiki quickly retreated while simultaneously manipulating the Senbonzakura petals to encircle the shadow.
"Resistance is futile, little brother Byakuya!"
A playful laugh rang out—a young woman's voice.
The already incredibly fast shadow accelerated, easily breaking through the Senbonzakura's defenses. Byakuya Kuchiki immediately countered with a Hakuda attack.
The shadow, however, gracefully backflipped over Byakuya Kuchiki, swiftly drawing three black lines on each of his cheeks, resembling a cat's whiskers.
"Little Byakuya, you look much cuter like this! You're always so serious; you need to smile more, or you might scare away all the girls!"
The shadow, having finished its playful marking of Byakuya Kuchiki, slowed, turning to face Byakuya Kuchiki, as well as Yusuke Uchiha and Kōga Kuchiki, who were watching with amusement.
The figure was revealed to be a strikingly beautiful and slender young woman with relatively short hair, a radiant smile, bronze skin, and striking golden eyes that added to her mysterious charm.
It was Yoruichi Shihōin, known as the "Shunpo God." Despite her youthful appearance, she was the head of the Shihōin clan, captain of the 2nd Division of the Gotei 13, and commander of the Onmitsukido (the Secret Mobile Force of the Seireitei).
Even without a mirror, Byakuya Kuchiki knew Yoruichi had marked his face.
His temples throbbed with anger; he desperately wanted to strike Yoruichi with the hilt of his Zanpakutō. However, seeing her confident and unperturbed expression, he knew such an action would be futile.
Yoruichi approached, reaching out to playfully tousle Byakuya Kuchiki's hair, deliberately disheveling it. Byakuya Kuchiki instinctively used his arms to shield himself, clearly averse to any interaction with her.
"Little Byakuya, don't be so cold! How about I teach you some Shunpo techniques later, little brother?"
Yoruichi continued her attempts to engage Byakuya Kuchiki in conversation, but he remained stubbornly unresponsive.
Yusuke Uchiha chuckled, turning to Kōga Kuchiki. "Is Captain Shihōin always this playful with Byakuya?"
Kōga Kuchiki smiled. "Indeed, she's Byakuya's only friend, though he'd never admit it."
Yusuke Uchiha shook his head, amused. No one would have guessed that the supremely stoic Byakuya Kuchiki of later years had once possessed such a fiery and easily provoked temperament in his youth.
With their business at the Kuchiki estate concluded, Yusuke Uchiha prepared to leave.
"It's getting late. Please convey my apologies for the intrusion to Captain Kuchiki," Yusuke Uchiha said to Kōga Kuchiki.
Yoruichi then approached the pair with a playful smile.
"Oh, Captain Uchiha! What a pleasant surprise! How about we share a drink to celebrate our reunion?" Yoruichi said familiarly.
Yusuke Uchiha politely declined with a smile. "I'm not much of a drinker, I wouldn't want to spoil Captain Shihōin's enjoyment."
Yoruichi laughed. "We're colleagues in the Gotei 13; there's no need for such formality. Just call me Yoruichi."
She added with a mischievous grin, "However, rejecting a lady's invitation is quite improper, Captain Uchiha. You'll have to make amends for hurting my feelings!"
Yusuke Uchiha responded with a smile, "And what kind of amends would Captain Shihōin deem appropriate?"
"How about… letting me take a look at Captain Uchiha's glasses?"
Before she could finish, Yoruichi vanished, reappearing instantly beside Yusuke Uchiha, her hand reaching for his glasses.
