Chapter 243 - NZNT: Chapter 243

Shinada Kōji breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of the massive wound on Susanoo's shoulder; he had, at least, managed to inflict damage.

Shinada Kōji breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of the massive wound on Susanoo's shoulder; he had, at least, managed to inflict damage. His relief was short-lived, however, as he watched in astonishment as new bone, muscle, and armor rapidly regenerated on the shoulder. Within seconds, the damage from his "Lion's Roar" attack had completely vanished.

From atop Susanoo, Yusuke Uchiha smiled down at Shinada Kōji. "Since you've revealed yourself, the rebellion's end is at hand."

Sweat poured down Shinada Kōji's brow. The brief exchange had made it clear: he was vastly outmatched by this Gotei 13 captain. His Bankai was inferior, his flame slash easily deflected. Continued combat was suicidal.

After a moment of rapid calculation, Shinada Kōji made the decision to flee. This would mean abandoning many of his men and severely damaging his own authority within the rebel ranks, but with his life on the line, it was the only choice.

"Men, we've been ambushed! Retreat! We'll fight another day!"

Shinada Kōji roared, turning to flee, and he sent the Crimson Flame Lion ahead to clear a path. The other rebel Shinigami immediately scattered, attempting their own escapes.

However, Yusuke Uchiha had anticipated this. The 6th Division members, positioned in readiness, sprang into action, intercepting the fleeing rebels.

Kōga Kuchiki, under Yusuke Uchiha's prior instructions, focused his attention on Shinada Kōji.

"Release, Whisper Muramasa!"

With Kōga Kuchiki's release of the cursed blade, the Crimson Flame Lion's eyes shifted, and it abruptly turned on its master, Shinada Kōji, delivering a powerful blow with its claw.

Completely unprepared for his own Zanpakutō to attack him, Shinada Kōji was unable to react in time and was sent flying backward. His trajectory carried him directly towards Yusuke Uchiha.

While simultaneously directing Susanoo to assist the other 6th Division members in subduing the remaining rebel Shinigami, Yusuke Uchiha extended his left hand towards the approaching Shinada Kōji.

"Bakudō #63, Sajō Sabaku."

The chantless Bakudō technique was flawlessly executed; four thick chains of spiritual energy erupted from nothingness, instantly binding Shinada Kōji and suppressing his spiritual pressure.

With Shinada Kōji's spiritual pressure neutralized, the Crimson Flame Lion, under Muramasa's control, gradually dissipated.

The remaining rebels were swiftly dealt with, all either killed or captured in the combined assault of Susanoo and the 6th Division members.

The battle had been devoid of suspense. In a world where individual strength heavily influences the outcome of war, the fate of the opposing forces often hinges on the victory or defeat of their respective leaders.

The 6th Division, already superior to the rebels in terms of skill and training, fought with exceptional morale and achieved a decisive victory, suffering almost no casualties; only a few of the less experienced members sustained minor injuries.

After the battle, the 6th Division members looked upon Yusuke Uchiha with awe, their understanding of their captain's overwhelming power deepened by his effortless subjugation of the rebel leader.

Following a count of the prisoners, Yusuke Uchiha commended his troops. The 6th Division had earned significant merit in this operation, and all participants would receive substantial rewards from the Captain-Commander.

Upon their return to the Seireitei, Yusuke Uchiha transferred custody of the captured Shinada Kōji to the 9th Division, where he was imprisoned and awaited judgment by the Central 46.

When Kyōraku Shunsui, captain of the 8th Division, learned from Lieutenant Yadōmaru Lisa of Yusuke Uchiha's performance in the suppression of the rebellion, he expressed a degree of surprise. As a veteran captain, Kyōraku Shunsui was consistently ranked among the most powerful within the Gotei 13. Based on Lisa Yadōmaru's description, Yusuke Uchiha's strength appeared to be on par with, or even exceeding, his own.

The day after Yusuke Uchiha returned to the Seireitei to submit his report, Kōga Kuchiki, acting on behalf of the former 6th Division captain, Ginrei Kuchiki, extended an invitation for Yusuke Uchiha to visit the Kuchiki family estate. Yusuke Uchiha readily accepted.

"Captain Uchiha, please follow me. My father-in-law is awaiting your arrival."

Yusuke Uchiha arrived at the Kuchiki family estate around midday, where Kōga Kuchiki had been waiting for some time.

The Kuchiki family, one of the five great noble houses of Soul Society, possessed an extensive estate situated in close proximity to the heart of the Seireitei.

The interior of the estate was designed in a refined and understated traditional Japanese garden style, emphasizing elegance and simplicity rather than ostentatious luxury. This understated elegance served to highlight the Kuchiki family's reputation for strict discipline and restrained demeanor.

Upon entering the living room, which was decorated in a classic Japanese style, Yusuke Uchiha found Ginrei Kuchiki formally seated in formal kneeling posture on a cushion, his posture impeccably straight, engaged in conversation with other members of his family.

Besides Ginrei Kuchiki, a young woman, elegantly attired and clearly married, was present—this was Kōga Kuchiki's wife, Unname Kuchiki.

Kneeling on a zabuton beside Unname Kuchiki was a young man of striking handsomeness and composed demeanor, his head adorned with the Konsen, the distinctive hair ornament worn by members of the Kuchiki family.

While formal introductions had yet to be made, Yusuke Uchiha, aware of the Kuchiki family's relatively small size, recognized this young man as the exceptionally gifted Byakuya Kuchiki.

Upon noticing Yusuke Uchiha's arrival, Ginrei Kuchiki offered a rare smile, rising to his feet to invite Yusuke Uchiha to be seated. Unname Kuchiki and Byakuya Kuchiki also rose and bowed respectfully. Their impeccable manners underscored the Kuchiki family's profound respect for etiquette and the high standards of education and refinement instilled within their members.

"Captain Uchiha, there are two reasons for this meeting. Firstly, to express our sincere gratitude for your guidance and support of Kōga. Secondly, to inform you that I am officially relinquishing my position as captain of the 6th Division, effectively transferring full command to you," Ginrei Kuchiki announced.

Kōga Kuchiki, offering a rare smile, confirmed his father-in-law's words. This was an unusual display of emotion for the normally stoic man.

Yusuke Uchiha responded modestly, "Captain Kuchiki, your words are too kind. Kōga has consistently demonstrated exceptional performance and made significant contributions to the 6th Division. Following your departure, I pledge to dedicate myself fully to the continued success of the 6th Division and will strive not to disappoint you."

Ginrei Kuchiki nodded in approval. Observing a hint of self-satisfaction on Kōga Kuchiki's face, he immediately directed a stern glance towards him, causing Kōga Kuchiki to instantly assume a more upright and serious posture.

With Kōga Kuchiki now properly composed, Ginrei Kuchiki continued, addressing Yusuke Uchiha, "Your successful capture of Shinada Kōji, the rebel leader, not only exceeded the Captain-Commander's expectations but also surpassed my own.

I've already approached the Captain-Commander earlier this morning and formally recommended your immediate and official appointment as captain. Judging by his reaction, I anticipate the 'acting' prefix to your title will be removed within the next couple of days."
