Chapter 20 - Rall Mahena (2)

Rall:"Mom...Dad...are you okay?"

???:"I'm fine but first check your mom, she doesn't look too good."

???:"I'm...fine honey. Rall dear, you should conserve energy instead of healing me."

Rall wasn't an idiot, the moment she spoke of healing he knew that she was indeed not fine.

Rall:"I only conserve energy when i need to, And right now the only need I have is to heal you."

Kneeling down he began healing his mom, bandaging her first to increase his efficiency.

Mom:"I..."

She wanted to say something but she didn't know what it was.

Rall:"You don't have to say anything mom, we'll get out of here alright? If we meet up with Ray then we might be able to garner help from the great Mercelle and Mark Levin. Ray should be some where near the Port. Hell we might not even need to get them if we could reach the Port ourselves."

She nodded helplessly at him, she knew that her life wasn't important then, she was ready...ready to die, as she didn't wish to be unnecessary baggage on her son or husband.

But so was the husband and so was the son.

Spread throughout Lagandra was a fear like no other, creatures whose attacks could not be healed like a tumor grew in number, Vague to Abstract all fell and fell in these creatures grasp.

Rall had no clue of what the reason was behind their appearance but he knew that what ever it was, it was no small matter.

But he didn't care, all he needed to do was bring his family to safety. That is ALL he needed to do the ONLY thing he needed to do.

His life? That wasn't something he was worrying about too much.

Currently, they were inside a shed that was relatively nearer to the sea port. Survivers have been informed to immediately escape the country-island and depart to the nearest Continent under the Lavestia Empire, Athens Front. And if they are on the northern side of lagandra they are to go to the ice capes of Glacia to get a chance to depart through better shipment and enter the main Archipelago Continent of Lavestia by a longer travel. As the emperor had been informed before hand by the late King, Demetri Lagan.

There was a clear path after a few turns from where they stood but there were creatures still roaming about.

Rall:"Dad, can you atleast kill one?"

His father, Seville Mahena looked at him with a stale face before smiling, there was sweat all over his body and dripping on his forehead.

Seville:"Y-Yeah, just take care of Centa for me."

Walking forward Rall slapped Seville hard on the face.

He instantly took his hand away and looked at it in horror.

Rall:"I-I So Sorr-"

He suddenly felt a warmth on his head.

Seville:"It's okay lad, I would do the same if I was in your shoes you know? If you were talking like that to me I would have actually kicked you until you couldn't move."

He Chuckled dryly before looking back at the road to the port, making sure that the turns they were going to take were the right way.

Rall stayed silent for a moment before he spoke.

Rall:"I...Won't let you die."

Seville nodded, but he didn't dare look back at his son.

Rall bit his lips, he knew he had to speak up or his father would do something reckless.

If I did...If I just do what I need to, like fighting? Yeah, If I fought as well I could make him come with us. That's i-it....it right?

He seemed uncertain but it was better than speaking out his voice for some reason.

But unlike him someone else did speak out in outrage.

In a raspy and angry tone, a voice raised her volume.

Centa:"Y-You won't be going anywhere! Alright you idiotic Servent of mine."

Rall involuntarily smiled, his mother was a noble back then but she still held onto that type of speech. Even though she never meant it she would call Seville her Servent when angry. His name was somewhat similar after all.

Chuckling to himself, Seville became more calm.

Seville:"As you say my lady. I guess I can't be that reckless huh?"

Rall:"That's right old man, it's an order from madam Centa herself."

Centa seemed agitated at their way of speaking but she grew a small smile at it.

Healing Seville to give him more stamina Rall picked up a sword, surprising Seville.

Seville:"Son?...that thing, you know that..."

He didn't want to discourage his son but Rall had no talent in Swordsmenship.

Rall grew a smile before speaking.

Rall:"Better than being unarmed?"

Understanding what he meant Seville nodded.

Seville:"Better than being Unarmed."

Holding up Centa, Rall gave a sign for moving and when Seville moved he followed.

Rall:"Come on Come on Come on Damn it!!!"

He had been running for a while now, his father was able to kill one creature and disable another, making it easier for them to make the first and second turn.

It would have been far easier if there weren't so many monsters filling the roads, they had to either kill or shove them away to get a path, there were also a few creatures that seemed to spread out some sort of spores as well.

Thankfully the family of three knew before hand of the creature's methods and were able to avoid them so far.

Rall was having trouble running and keeping the sword in his hands due to him having to carry Centa who had become tired after the second turn.

She couldn't be blamed, she wasn't built for running far and her body was too weakened to move, he cursed himself for being unable to fully remove the after effects. He thought it was all that he needed to do as the costs for healing were un-needed due to his mark.

How should I know that I would have to make her run for so long!

He was also cursing life for it's unfairness, why can't it just let him do what he Needed to do!? Can't it stay put?

He was growing agitated at living but he knew he couldn't get unfocused. Their life depends on his healing and running.

Suddenly he felt a drop of water fall on his nose, making him stop for but a moment before running even faster. A rain had started.

After running for who knows how long in the rain, Rall saw Seville take the final turn....But he suddenly stopped.

Seville:"Sh*t!"

Rall:"What's wrong?"

Seville bit down heavily, turning back he shouted In a mild manner. The voice was dampened by the rain but was heard by Rall.

Seville:"Run inside that house!"

Rall didn't hesitate and followed Seville.

Soon after entering the house Seville pushed Rall and centa who was on Rall's back to the floor before jumping down himself.

Rall:"What is it?"

Rall whispered.

Seville:"Shh, look out the window."

Rall did as he was told, he looked out the window very carefully, making sure that he coudl—

Rall:"What the Fu*k is that!?"

Seville:"I think we know something else now..."

The house was empty and dark, it was made of exquisite wood but seemed as though was left abandoned for years.

Light was of diminutive in need, but was enough for one to see a bit clearly. The rain pitter-pattered against the window Rall was looking out of.

Then the scarce light diminished even further, the pitter-pittar was there but a loud noise like a mix between a growl and a ship's horn was heard, Centa shivered and held her head, biting down on her lips to hold her self from screaming as Seville scrunched his eyes in fear.

Rall looked at the abomination outside in utter shock.

There was a human torso with a uniform, the uniform was well tailored, it had a bar butler look to it as well. The human torso had a well defined neck that could be considered to be handsome too.

There were veins on his neck like any other, except those veins were tearing through the Neck's flesh, a whitish liquid was oozing out from underneath it it, mixing grotesquely with a stream of blood.

These roots moved up to enter a lower jaw, it had teeth and a tongue...yet no upper jaw nor anything else of flesh on top.

The roots diverged the teeth and carved through the tongue pinning it down onto the jaw and entered an unguarded throat from which a ginormous plant stem protruded out, it had veins and arteries that beat like a heart, pulsing visibly. And those were easy to see on the stem, blood flowed upwards and upwards through those pipes until they reached a blood red flower at the end of the stem, the stem growing red at the top, reaching two stories up.

The flower's center wiggled lively as it's petals had eyes on each one of them looking at the sky. Their stare was of a starving parchedness, the centre drank the water it was filled with as blood entered the eyes and got filtered by the water to enter back into the torso, the eyes relished every second.

From there which the blood with a thinner consistency went below the torso where existed nothing but protruding pinkish-red lotus flowers that twisted and curled disgustingly to move the torso.

Rall stood in horror as a copious amount of blood gushed out of those flowers in a single burst.

The blood filled the road like a small wave, a splash of it landing on the window rall was seeing from.

Rall jumped down and held his mouth greatly.

Rall:"That was..."

The creatures looked like plants and were capable of inflicting hits that might not heal, but...if he was correct then.

Rall:"■■■■■■■"

Seville looked back at Rall, opening his eyes. He had gotten a revelation different from Rall himself yet it was of similar if not greater importance.

Seville:"Yeah...those creatures get stronger in the rain."

The situation had grown much more dire, but Rall couldn't help but think.

That Uniform...it was a bar tenders...if I remember correctly, that particular bar uniform could only belong to....

He held his mouth in order to not vomit.

There is no way....Joan?
