Chapter 601: This Thing's Way Better Than My Original Gun!
He had underestimated Exusiai.
The moment Steven saw her casually lift the massive gatling gun with a single hand—a weapon that realistically should've been mounted on a tank or helicopter—he finally remembered something important.
The humans of this world were basically superhuman.
At that point, Steven simply gave up questioning how Exusiai proceeded to wield the heavy rotary cannon with the same ease and flexibility as a pistol.
Instead, he calmly holstered his handgun, sat back down beside Lin Yuhsia, and leisurely resumed drinking tea.
"Why're you looking at me like that?" Steven asked innocently. "Drink your tea."
Honestly, nothing about Steven's relaxed expression could be connected to the same boy who had fired without hesitation moments ago.
"Do you know," Lin Yuhsia said slowly, "that there's an actual regulation in Lungmen prohibiting Laterano people from using their real firearms inside the city?"
Her gaze drifted toward Exusiai, who was currently suppressing the entire enemy force by herself while looking increasingly delighted with every second of gunfire.
"Even when they are allowed to use them, they're only permitted to fire rubber rounds."
"And?" Steven spread his hands. "First, I'm not a Laterano. Second..." He pointed toward Exusiai. "Was I the one firing?"
His expression practically screamed this has absolutely nothing to do with me.
"She took the gun from me herself," Steven continued with complete seriousness. "That means she stole it—it wasn't a sale. There was no financial transaction between us, so legally speaking, this has nothing to do with me."
Then he grinned.
"And I'm sure she wouldn't drag me down with her either."
"That's not what I meant," Lin Yuhsia sighed. "None of the firearms you sold to Lungmen included that thing. You never even mentioned you had one."
She glanced again at the roaring multi-barreled monstrosity in Exusiai's hands.
"Even if it's from your private collection, shouldn't we at least discuss a price?"
Steven blinked.
After rubbing his chin thoughtfully for a moment, he finally grinned.
"Sorry, this one's not for sale." Then he added casually, "Though if you really like it, I could always give you one as a present."
"I'll pass," Lin Yuhsia replied flatly. "I have no interest in being harassed by a swarm of Sankta."
Then she shot Steven a warning glance.
"If you want your future life in Lungmen to stay peaceful, you'd better tell your Sankta friend to keep her mouth shut. Those Laterano people go absolutely insane whenever they see this kind of weapon."
Steven only shrugged.
Meanwhile, Lin Yuhsia had already begun mentally drafting the headache-inducing report she'd inevitably have to submit later about today's incident.
As for Exusiai's side of the battle—
It ended quickly.
Very quickly.
Just as Lin Yuhsia had described earlier, this wasn't even a fight anymore.
It was a one-sided massacre.
Compared to the terrifying multi-barreled rotary cannon spinning at thousands of rounds per minute in Exusiai's hands, the Siracusans' crossbows looked like primitive weapons dragged out of the Stone Age.
At first, Exusiai struggled slightly with controlling the recoil, but the moment her absurd Terra-born physical strength combined with the natural firearm instincts unique to a Sankta kicked in, the Siracusans stopped having even the slightest chance of winning.
Exusiai had even managed to ensure every single bullet merely severely injured the Siracusan gangsters without outright killing them.
After all, this was still Lungmen City. The moment a large-scale death incident occurred, the nature of the entire situation would immediately escalate.
Now, if these people later died from blood loss… Well, that had absolutely nothing to do with her.
With that perfectly reasonable justification established in her mind, Exusiai finally lowered the gatling gun whose barrels had already become scorching hot from continuous fire.
And for the very first time in her life, Exusiai realized—
Her beloved firearms had limits.
At the very least, the monstrous weapon Steven had handed her completely overwhelmed her own signature handgun in both firepower and firing speed.
No, calling it an upgrade honestly felt insulting.
The two weapons weren't even in the same category.
If she absolutely had to point out flaws, the only things she disliked were the heavy weight and the impossible-to-hide size.
But compared to that overwhelming firepower?
Those were tiny issues.
Still looking somewhat reluctant, Exusiai glanced at the teahouse in front of her—which had practically been turned into ruins by her enthusiastic barrage.
Only after calming down did she stick out her tongue awkwardly.
Just the repair costs alone were probably enough to bankrupt her.
At this point, all she could do was pray that the Emperor would reimburse the damages.
"So?" Steven asked curiously while retrieving the gatling gun from the girl who clearly didn't want to let go of it. "How'd it feel compared to your regular guns?"
"How do I put this..." Exusiai's eyes shone even brighter than the halo above her head. "Can you sell this thing? How much would it cost?"
Ever since experiencing that overwhelming storm of bullets firsthand, she simply couldn't forget the exhilaration of unleashing that kind of firepower.
"Hm... I guess selling one isn't impossible," Steven replied thoughtfully.
But instead of directly answering her, he shifted the conversation back toward the real issue.
"Still, I don't think this is what you should be focusing on right now."
He glanced toward the heavily wounded Siracusans scattered throughout the ruined teahouse.
"Weren't you being chased by these guys?" Steven asked. "Now that things have calmed down a bit, shouldn't you explain what exactly caused all this in the first place?"
After all, the commotion they had created was enormous.
The Lungmen Guard Department would definitely arrive soon.
And once that happened, enjoying the drama peacefully would become a lot harder.
So before the authorities showed up, Steven naturally intended to get the full story first.
