Defeated, Kaelith dropped his fully dressed self onto the bed and rubbed his face with both hands.
He said slowly, his voice thick with emotion, "I believe that I'm keeping certain secrets to myself, ones he doesn't know about. But I also believe that before I agreed to date him, we had a clear condition—no hiding things from each other. Yet he did things that strongly suggest he's keeping something from me. I asked him to be honest, to tell me, but he wouldn't. And not just that… he also purposely did something that could have put us in harm's way. Tell me, Jaden, is what he did fair? Is that good?"
"Hmm… confusing," Jaden muttered thoughtfully, scratching the back of his head as he processed Kaelith's outburst. After a pause, he continued more carefully, his voice slower, "So if I understand you correctly, you two agreed not to keep secrets. But to you, a secret is when someone knows they're hiding something from the other person, right?"
