Chapter 118 - Two wives

In the evening, battered and bruised, I finally managed to coax and drag Enis back home. Luckily, my constitution has strengthened; otherwise, I'd have died countless times in the past."Alright, I'm sorry for letting you suffer these past three years. From now on, I'm not going anywhere without you. My dear wife, please forgive me this time. As for Suōshā, let her be second. I promise you'll always have the upper hand, and she wouldn't dare bully you~," I said, holding her hand."Hmph!" Enis reluctantly let me lead her along. We finally returned to the new city and ran into Kaia and her group. "You're finally back, White!" Kaia greeted me excitedly. "Yeah, I'm done with my seclusion. Thanks for helping Enis with the workload while I was gone," I replied cheerfully. "By the way, what's with all those injuries? Did you run into an enemy?" Emily asked. "Uh, let's not talk about that. How's the new city's construction going? How many demons have migrated here?" I changed the subject."Enis has done more than us on that front. As you can see, the new city is basically complete, with all facilities in place. Next, we'll appoint administrative staff and security forces. Food and supplies are also being shipped from the capital," Kaia answered. "Looks like my wife deserves the most credit. Emperor Ba seems reluctant to leave the demon realm after thousands of years. You'll have to persuade him yourself, dear," I said to Enis. "I know. If he doesn't come, it'll be a huge loss," Enis finally spoke to me, and I secretly rejoiced. "Let's head to the palace to discuss further," I suggested. We arrived at the office, and as soon as we opened the door, we saw Suōshā reading a book. "Welcome back," she greeted us with a smile. "Who's she?" Kaia asked. "Uh, it's a long story," I said, unsure how to explain. "I'm White's second wife," Suōshā declared, ignoring Enis's sour expression. "Wife? What's going on? I'm confused," Emily said, puzzled. "No rush. I'm the first wife, you're the second. As the junior, why don't you serve everyone some tea?" Enis asserted her dominance. I stayed silent. "Sure, little sister's on it~," Suōshā replied calmly, instantly conjuring a delicate tea set with divine magic and brewing sweet tea. "Impressive! Who is she?" Emily asked, shocked. "Uh, her name's Suōshā, a God Master from another universe, on par with Ao Tian. She's the mysterious woman I mentioned that night. I had to marry her for… reasons," I explained reluctantly. "Haha, White, you sure pick formidable women, each one stronger than the last!" Kaia teased."Alright, to business. The new city is nearly complete but lacks a leader. That role belongs to Emperor Ba. Enis and I have our own family to manage and can't oversee this place. Only Emperor Ba can command all the demons. I suggest we all go to the demon realm to convince him," I proposed, steering the conversation."Great idea! Shall we head there now?" Emily supported. "I'm bored here, so I'll come along~," Suōshā chimed in. "Hmph, do as you please," Enis replied coldly. "You haven't returned to your universe in three years. Don't you need to check on it?" I asked Suōshā. "No worries, my true self will head back later," she replied, instantly shifting to the dignified demeanor of a God Master, calm and composed—probably her professional habit kicking in, haha. Enis was a bit surprised and no longer underestimated her.
