On a Dusty road, somewhrere in plains. Roaring engine of beaten car is the only loud sound. The one who is driving, is man with short dark hair, crudely shaved chin, and rugs for a clothes. He is starring at the road, and sees shapes of something in the far.
Sergei (Driver) - Boris! Wake up you drunkard! We almost there!
Driver hits sleeping nearby man in a shoulder with an elbow. Boris, wake up starteled, and grabs rifle betwen his leg by the barrel, only to realize he was waken up by his friend and relax once again. Boris is unfit, but strong man, with unkempt, red hair and beard. Wearing an soldier uniform, that is little too big for him, so the shirt is not buttoned up.
Boris - What the hell? I just got to the fun part?
Sergei - What exactly? Getting drunk in the dreams? You better look around. In case we will find something. Nita, look out for anything strange! I can't trust this fool. He probobly seeing a double
Nita - Sure thing.
On a backseats. Was sitting Nita. T-Doll with a huge frame. Her frame is 208 centimeter tall while standing straight. She could use some cosmetic repair, since one of her eyes is exposed, shining bright yellow, while the other eye is blue. Wearing dark raincoat and sportsuit, but every piece of clothes has some holes, burns or scratchmarks. Sitting on backseat, Nita is looking around for any signs of ambush, Elids or anything worth mentioning.
Sergei - There should be a mall. If things are clear in there, we can try to use it as camp for some time. If my memory serves me right, it should be somewhere… Here…
As the car turned around another corner. Three store shoping center, and spacious parking lot in front of it. Alot of scraped cars and junk is luing around.
Boris - For the love of heavens! You brought us here for shit and giggles. Even if this thing is clear. How are we going to hold out in this beast of a toomb? It has like FIVE possible directions of attack!
Sergei - We have hands and some smart brains. Will figure something out
Sergei said as he stoped car on a parking lot. If Traffic Laws were still in strengh. He would probably get a ticket and asked to move it another spot. But no one is going to watch it anyway
Boris - Figure something out? Like what? How we are going to become a meal for Elids?
Boris opened glove compartment and grabed gasmask and protective coat. After puting on gasmask, he opened door of the car, while still cursing the fact that he would rather stayed in military sevice
Sergei - Nita, I will be here just in case. Check out if things are cleare in there.
Nita - Sould i engage in combat?
Sergei - Just make sure that this drunken bastard is ok. And follow his instructions! Everything should be fine.
Nita grabed rifle and got out of the car. For a moment, the sight of ruined buildings, abandoned and wreked cars, stunned her. Then Nita's sight came upon Boris who triped on pice of junk and started swearin even more. This made her a chuckle slightly
Boris - Ah hell! Who put a hole in the middle of nowhere?
Nita - Come one mister Boris! Once we done here, we would be able to relax a little!
Nita walked past Boris who was fixing his coat and mask, and then hurried to follow Nita. As the two made their way inside, darkness engulfed surroundings, but Boris was ready, turning on flashlight on his rifle, he grabed rifle in combat grip, making sure to check all possible corners
Boris - This place giving me a creeps! Who came up with the idea to use it as camp?
Nita - Everyone, includig you, mister Boris.
Boris - Now you sound like my second wife! So stop that. I hate her!
Nita - Yes!
Venturing deeper. Boris kept cheking corners, while Nita was following not so far behind, cheking different stalls and stores. One of the shops was pharmacy. Evey single shelf was empty. Sergei words came up in Nita's neuro-link "For a right medicine, people ready to do anything"
Boris - Nita! Come here! I think i got something!
Nita hurried to Boris who was aiming at the door with "fire stairs" signs.
Boris - I heard something behind this door. Open it… Slowly!
Without any words, Nita started slowly opening the door. But midway through opening the door, Bear like ELID bursted through the door, and rushed to Boris who opened fire. ELID fall to the ground and stoped moving just few steps away from Boris. But Boris kept aiming at the door for a good few seconds, before finaly releasing breath.
Boris - Damn these Elids and this mall
Nita - You alright Sir?
Boris - Yeah! Just hate the fact that when things come to this, I am right! Everyone were saying that i am paranoid at first! And then everyone is dead and i have to deal with this. I wish i was really just paranoid, but i...
Boris loked at Nita, the only listener. And chuckled
Boris - No, nevermind… Bloody Hell Fire, i am confessing to the doll. What next? Marry dolls? I am defenetly going crazy after all this. Check the stairs! I will be right behind!
Boris leaned aginst the wall and was trying to catch his breath. Nita silently watched at him for a few moments, wanting to say something. But didn't find any actual words to say. So just silently went to check the stairs.
Suddenly, radio on Boris belt started making noses
Sergei - I heard shooting! Everyone is ok?
Boris - Just some bloody Elids. So far everything is fine!
Boris answerd radio. And then slowly followed Nita by the stairs. And then heard shooting upstairs, so he just rushed upstairs.
Upstairs had few Elids. Lured by sounds of shoots, they rashed from another side of the building, but lost point of interest before finding out where shots came from. But was agitated once they saw Nita.
Quick aim and a shot. Loud bang filled the halls, while one of the Elids were left with a gaping hole inside his head. Another shot, and one more Elid were dead both inside and outside. But one of the crawling Elids came way to close. There was not time to reload. So Nita paried his attak with a rifle, and then grabed him by the neck. The best she could at this moment, throw him over herself, which she did. Crawler was sprawled on the ground after such throw, and Nita folowed up by crushing his head with a foot.
Just at this moment Boris finaly reached the door. Seeing two more Elids behind Nita, he started shooting from the hip, killing one in the process, and injuring another, but rifle made *CLICK* signalizing of empty magazine. This gave enough time for Nita to load her rifle and make one more shot. Ending this fight, with a winners being Boris and Nita. And their reward was nothing.
For a few more moments Boris and Nita stayed in silence, but once they realized that the only thing disturbing it was Boris's heavy breathing. They finaly reloaded their weapons
Boris then grabed his radio
Boris - I think this place is clear. How things outside?
Sergei (Radio) - Cloudy, possibly sunny. And no, i don't see any Elids being atracted by your shooting spree! Everything is fine there?
Boris - Yeah! We will check a few things! You can bring here the rest of the group meanwhile!
Sergei (Radio) - Ok! Just don't get yourself killed!
Boris - I can manage that!
Boris put his radio back on the belt and once again leaned against the wall.
