It's been weeks since I joined this organization. The thing I had say spread like wildfire, earning me side eyes from my colleagues of the same rank.
Some call me a madman, while others ridicule my choice .
Every now and then, I always end up ear drop people bad mouthing me.
But I really couldn't care less about these people's opinions.
Most of the responses they gave always something like this.
"She's the 7th in the Abyssal Depth, do you really think she bat an eyes on you? Especially when you got no power at all. "
Or
"Don't you know Lady Arlen was cursed?"
And honestly, I can't really be mad at them. Cursed people are feared in all lands. Individuals who are cursed usually bring bad luck, destruction, or catastrophe wherever they go.
For example, there is one famous story known across all lands about a single cursed person. This person is also known as the worst human to ever exist, having killed an uncountable number of living beings during their time centuries ago. Even after it death, the body was so cursed that the ground itself rejected it body from being buried.
And that alone struck fear into the hearts of many, forever changing how people view the cursed.
But to be honest, I don't care. That's just a story of a forgotten past. It has nothing to do with the present.
Those were my thoughts as I finished putting on the uniform.
"Looking good," I mutter, pointing at my own reflection before stepping foot outside.
The hallways stretch far, but for some reason today the road ahead was blocked by many of my colleagues
"What did the superior say?" I throw a question to the person in front.
That person looked at me, role his eyes before turning back forward.
"You're late, Mori."
"Sorry, I was distracted by my own face."
Sigh "...You didn't miss much. The superior is about to give his speech."
Our focus shifted to the person standing on the platform.
"To all lowest-rankers, I am here to deliver an important message," the superior words caused murmurs among the colleague.
"Tomorrow, all twelve members of the highest rank and our leader, Her Majesty, will be holding a grand meeting here, in this hideout. I have been inform and provided with a list of tasks that need to be completed in preparation for their arrival."
Hearing what the superior had to said, I was quick to feels funny inside.
-A chance to see the lady again.
*From outside the hideout
Spying form a far, his lenses focus apon the crowd of people inside before the black mask retreated back into the shades.
