Chapter 215 - chapter 15

Hamar looked at the map and looked into his surroundings. "Just where am I?"

He looked around in order to find any points in the land he could identify to find his position. On that map he copied he only showed those points of interest related to Hou but on the one given by Night Sky it was such more comprehensive.

"I should still be within the borders of this map, let's try and look for one of these big mountains...Blood Mountain...Heaven Piercing....Soul Shattering..." Hamar read out the names of each major mountain range he could see and made sure to memorise them all.

He jumped of the ground, using a burst of purple aura to jump high into the sky, after jumping on solidified aura in the air a few more times, be was high in the sky and could look past any obstacles.

He used aura and injected dot within his eyes, enhancing their power, the same way he could strengthen his muscles.

He also used a concentrated beam of non-combative aura and shot it far out, scanning for any landmarks.

"Is that!?" Hamar looked down at the map and confirmed it to his best before confirming, "I think...I think that's one of the main cities under Night Sky! It's shadow trench!"

He was looking in the sky but saw little, but when using that concentrated aura to search closer to him on the ground, he found it.

It started as a small crack in the ground but as one descended, the crack would widen and eventually turn I to the deep underground shadow trench.

And within that dark place, all laws were suppressed and subdued to an extent, this is where Night Sky hid many of it's top members.

This was because Night Sky was an information broker and in their dealing would be on a thin line between friend and enemies with everyone.

They could get information for everyone but at the same time they could get information FROM anyone, leading to conflicts.

This meant that by choosing a domain like shadow trench, any enemy wanting to find them and attack would have some trouble, in which time they could escape.

"Lucky! Is this because of my great bad luck with Si Tai? That now I'm being rewarded?"

The dragon within his robe wiggled awake, "I'm awake again. After being supressed by Mo Huai and Si Tai I had some troubles awakening..."

Hamar flinched, "...you very rarely JUST wake up, is there a reason?"

"Two actually."

"Two reasons?"

"Three now, yes."

"Three?!" Hamar's head jolted back as the number of reasons increased suddenly.

"Don't worry, I'll explain. The first reason is to tell you that I've found hope for Hou."

"Wait really? I need to inform Master! What is it?"

"When Si Tai suppressed you, I actually absorbed a large amount of death laws and in doing so I found a peculiarity with this fraction of Hou's consciousness and soul that I am."

"A peculiarity? A problem?"

"Quite the opposite...I appear to be growing. Not a simple growing stronger but a regeneration. I...Think the unique physique of my main body has the ability to regenerate the soul and high speeds."

The dragon continued before letting Hamar respond, "This means that as long as Hou does not die in his entirety, he should be able to regenerate. And the main body will be able to stay alive despite whatever treatment he is in! And...I can stay as my own being too!"

Hamar was shocked and didn't say anything until he looked down and smiled, then he joked, "Oh no, I have to bear with you even more...I can't escape!"

The dragon seemingly harrumphed and headbutted Hamar, "That's the first reason."

"ahh yes, you said there were two more reasons?"

"I did, the second reason is what you said that actually prompted me to awake. You mentioned your luck might've turned around."

"Yeah...is that wrong?"

The dragon flew into the sky beside Hamar and looked at him up and down. He then sat on his shoulder as he stated, "You're not wrong but not right either. It shot that you have good luck and not bad luck, you have both."

Hamar furrowed his brows and without saying a thing, he prompted the dragon to explain, "Heaven gives and heaven takes away, it tried to remain balanced, which is why your aura goes against it. But those excessive bad luck did allow for good luck to arrive once you escaped but at the same time I sensed new fluctuations."

"New ones..." Hamar squinted and looked around, "Is it an enemy?" He drew his sword and made it have a glowing purple edge of aura.

The dragon chuckled and coiling dangerously close to Hamar's aura, "I suspect you've been tracked. I don't know when or how it escaped your notice with aura but...that's the likely situation, they've tracked you somehow. Si Tai that is, or his group, his backing."

Hamar nodded and burst out a large radius of aura, draining his reserves somewhat after using much to move in Si Tai's presence.

He felt his stomach as he noted that his aura would need a good while of meditation to return to normal. He had been overextending it, if he wanted to grow stronger he needs more aura.

"I don't see anyone around for now, What's the third reason quick? Once you say, I'll go in shadow trench and try to meditate some aura back."

The dragon flew into Hamar's robes and sat on his neck, "The third is to be careful of that shadow trench...it has deep shadow laws as per it name and you also senses that didn't you?"

Hamar thought back to Si Tai, he realised exactly what the dragon was talking about. Hamar did not have amazing comprehension in many laws but due to his background he had once lived in a world encompassed by darkness.

Perhaps because of this, his comprehension of shadows was fairly good and so he could understand, "Si Tai cultivates shadows..."

The dragon tightened it's grip on Hamar, an affirmative gesture. Hamar patted the dragon as comfort and started walking.

Each step moved further than it should have, a footwork technique Hamar used with swordsmanship, as he slowly descended as he travelled into shadow trench, careful of any familiar fluctuations of Si Tai or perhaps his followers.
