"If you want to go anywhere else, tell me so I will take you". He added and Catherine nodded.
"Anywhere is fine". She said with her soft voice. Her black eyes stood out in the broad daylight.
He was tempted to touch her red rosy cheeks. But, he wanted her to be free and comfortable around him. That will be better for him than having her being wary of herself words or herself around him.
"Let's go take a stroll, after that, I will take you to the market". He said and Catherine eyes shone happily at the thought of visiting the market of Eldrida kingdom.
"I would love that Lucas". She said happily smiling brightly at him. Her smile was so infectious that hewas tempted to kiss her lips. But he refrained himself from doing so. He wouldn't act like a pervert now when he wants her to be his own.
"Alright then, let's go". He said as they both walked towards the spacious garden of the castle.
Meanwhile, in Calanthor kingdom,
The duchess was dressed in her fine silk royal robes. She was ready to visit the Eldrida kingdom today and not tomorrow. She has this strong feeling that the prince's wife is the cause of this beginning of calamity that is almost falling in the land of Calanthor. Even if her husband doesn't believe her that the prince's wife isn't an ordinary humans, she will be end of every one in this kingdom, be it vampires or humans. Wolves aren't excluded.
She stared at her reflection for a while longer before stepping out of the room with five maids trailing behind her.
On reaching the main hall, she bowed her head to her husband.
"Your Grace, I would like to go on horse not a carriage. I do not want to attract unnecessary attention. " She explained but the Duke wasn't buying it.
He couldn't allow his wife to go on a horse to a faraway land. Even though the prince uses three to five days to reach Eldrida, it can't be said for his wife. It will definitely take two to three weeks before reaching the border of Eldrida. Even if she uses horse, she would fall heal before she even reach Eldrida.
"Use a carriage. Even if you use a carriage and it takes ––"
"Are you seriously kidding me? I should use a carriage that will take about two months to reach Eldrida? If I take a horse in two to three weeks I will arrive there. The earlier I arrive, the more innocent lives are saved. I understand you want to protect me but I can't stay still or go slow on a journey when danger is already looming. "
I wouldn't listen to you. I will use a horse. And that is final. She said sharply and left the hall. She came out of the castle and saw hundreds of soldiers gathered around.
She pursed her lips hard trying to see if she could disburse them.
She parted her lips to talk when Duke clad spoke calmly,
"The hundreds of soldiers won't be divided. Your safety means a lot. Haven't you heard of the monstrous beasts in the woods?" He said with a tone of finality.
The duchess knew her husband was right. So she didn't argue with him.
"In two to three weeks I will arrive at Eldrida kingdom and send you letters of my arrival". She said and hugged her husband.
Clad hugged her back stroking her back gently. They pulled away with the Duke nodding his head.
"Don't forget to send letters ". He said and she nodded before climbing her horse and pulling the reins.
"Good bye!" She waved at her husband before pulling the reins of her horse and moving while the hundreds of soldiers also rode their horses behind her as they made their journey to Eldrida kingdom.
Once they were out of sight,
Brady came out looking pale.
"Your Grace, isn't this dangerous?" He asked with a worried frown.
"The wolves will soon start acting up. Even though I don't want to believe what my wife said about the prince's wife, I have this nagging feeling that she could be right about the prince's wife not being an ordinary human." He voiced our his worries.
Should we visit the the wizards quarters? Brady asked calmly seeing it as the only way to know the fate of Calanthor kingdom.
The Duke turned to look at Brady with a thoughtful gaze.
It's located at the south. The shimmering Crystal Coast to the south. Brady said trying to make the Duke remember.
It's a land filled with magic and visions. Brady said calmly.
"Alright then, let's make preparations to leave in a few days. I need to take care of some matters in this capital." The Duke said and Brady nodded.
"I will take my leave". He bowed his head and left. Once he left, duke Clad felt something was off and he went inside the castle to take care of the state matters before preparing his journey to visit the Wizards quarters.
In Eldrida,
Two people could be seen walking hand in hand in the vast garden. The trees were shimmering beautifully under the bright sun. While they were walking,
Catherine couldn't help but ask. She had been thinking about all.tge things that happened at the dinning and then remembered Michael's words of Lucas killing her soon.
Will he kill her as predicted by her brother? She thought.
"Lucas, will you really kill me some day?" She blurted out surprising Luacs who didn't expect her to take her foolish brother's words to heart. He was slightly disappointed that she had made such a thought about him. Is he that a monster that he will kill the woman he is falling for mad for some reason he couldn't wait to get his hands on that scum bag called Michael and tear him from limb to limb. He thought coldly emitting his dangerous aura to cloak the garden.
Catherine felt icy chills ran down her spine as she didn't know her question had offended him.
