Chapter 190 - Bond

High-end popped again with (Phase Ripper), and I was already mid-vault. [Acrobatics & Evasion] twisted me over its arm, both boots landing on its shoulder blades. I fired down with WEM like a sledgehammer. (Shockburst Glands) went off.

Walls cracked.

The blast blew me back, but [Devourer's Instinct] kept me upright mid-air, sucking stamina from the ugly fucker. Pain was a bitch, but I had worse. Like Bakugo's breath. I landed and charged again.

It blinked again. I saw it flicker. [Veilpiercer]. I side-stepped and drove WEM into its gut. [Mirko's Piston Drive] fired. Its chest dented like cheap tin.

Its claws went wide, swinging blind. [Situational Awareness] pinged the arc. I ducked, rose with a knee to its jaw. Followed with a downward bat strike that cracked the tile into its face.

"FUCK!" it yelled.

"That is the spirit," I muttered, spitting blood. "Now die screaming."

It popped out again, backwards this time, trying to fake me out like a horror movie jump-scare. Too bad I saw it coming. Kicked a cracked pipe into its teleport path.

It reappeared inside it. Dumbass.

I threw WEM, full spin. The bat clocked its skull before it realized it was mid-glitch. [Shatterpoint] lit the cranium. I followed up, bare hands, [Unarmed Combat Techniques], grabbed its neck.

"Tell Garaki I am pissing in his next syringe."

It gurgled. (Super Regeneration) already on.

"Not yet, bitch."

Hemothread hummed on my wrist. The gauntlet, [Hemothread Fang] flared, semi-sentient wire shot forward. It wrapped around its legs, cut deep, and pulled. I stomped its chest, bat returned via grip-link.

"Hey Mirko," I said through the comm. "Three."

"Fuck you," she replied. "I got four."

"Eat a grenade."

I swung down. [Storm Fist] finally stacked. The impact cracked a crater into the bastard's face. Its body jerked, then stilled.

(Still regenerating.)

I grabbed a metal tray off the wall and jammed it through the exposed trapezii.

"Stay down, dick fondue."

Then it finally stopped moving.

"Moving to Sublevel," I growled.

"Don't slow down," Mandalay's voice said in the comms. "Evac is about to be completed!"

"I wasn't fucking planning on it."

But then the tether flared, like every neuron in my spine decided to flip the circuit breaker. My pulse tripped. My world snapped.

I staggered, like someone just dropkicked my heart from the inside out.

Tether-Link activated.

Vision twisted. My eyes stopped being mine.

Mirko's eyes. Her breath. Her goddamn rage.

She blasted through a wall, debris still falling as she landed inside what looked like a surgical warehouse made by a lunatic. Rows of tubes. Tanks. Nomu. More than I could count. Not the usual bulked-up meatbags either, some small, twisted, larval freaks floating in fluid.

One of them got hit by the breach, crushed instantly.

Garaki shrieked like someone murdered his goldfish.

"JOHNNY!"

Mirko pressed without hesitation.

She was on him before he could run, kick flying to his face. And then, everything went to shit.

Tanks started popping.

Nomu burst from the tanks like infected zits on a sweaty teenager's back. Tubes snapped, fluid sprayed, and every wall screamed with claws and glass.

"MIRKO!"

Mirko dropped one mid-air, heel first, kicked through its neck like it was drywall. Another tackled her, fangs snapping. She grabbed it by the face and bounced its head off the floor twice before punting it through a wall.

I hit the broken elevator shaft hard and slid down the last few meters with a heel-drag, boots scraping metal as sparks trailed behind. Vents were tighter than expected, probably never meant for anyone with bones or lungs. I still slammed through the duct, dropped shoulder-first into an empty floor, and kept going before the dust landed.

A Nomu rounded the corner with the speed of a drunk truck, limbs twitching, jaw unhinged like a python halfway through a meal. I shoulder-checked it mid-sprint. WEM came up as the second impact, momentum-stacked, Mirko piston-blast triggered, sent its upper torso flying backward without the legs. I never stopped moving. The legs tried crawling after me. Cute.

I passed a shattered gurney. Two more shapes stumbled from a busted door, snarling. One launched, I caught it mid-air, pivoted into a wall slam, snapped its spine on the corner rail. The second swung a bone blade. I let it graze. [Pain Resistance] shrugged off the slice as I crushed its elbow with the bat, twisted around, and kicked it headfirst into a crash cart.

The floor dipped again. Pipes overhead hissed. Noise below, Mirko's path still blasting open.

Another Nomu, this one bulked with six arms and no face, charged from a side hallway. I veered, vaulted off the wall, used the height to drop onto its back. I pressed harder, body already running off instinct and momentum more than anything else. Heat built in my limbs. Skin peeled where claws had clipped, my sleeve melted from some bile splash, but I kept running.

By the time I got there, Mirko had half a dozen High-End surrounding her. A bit roughed up, yeah, but all parts attached and still breaking spines like she was cracking open cold ones.

"Mirko!" I yelled.

She turned, grinning wide. "Heh, you took your time."

I scraped WEM across the floor, dragging it like an executioner's axe. The metal howled against tile, making every Nomu twitch.

'Toga. Use Todoroki.'

"Right away, lover~," she whispered back like she was biting her lip through the mental link.

Permanent Bond: Ryuu ↔ Toga came with more than just sappy synergy and bonus crits. I found out the hard way that it unlocks shit. Real shit. Not just warm feelings and combat perks.

One day, she hit me up all excited, practically vibrating through the mental link, saying her Quirk had awakened. Said she wanted to show me what she could do now. My plan was to use Tether Link to see from her eyes. Feel what she was feeling.

That was my second mistake. The first was assuming this would be even remotely normal.

The second the link snapped in, I felt it.

I was in her.

Not some poetic soul-merge crap. No. Inside her. Literally syncing with her from the inside out, nerve for nerve. She was blushing so hard I could feel the heat radiating through the bond. Giggling like a lunatic.

"You are really inside me," she kept whispering, every three seconds like she was gonna moan if I so much as breathed too hard. "Ryuu~ you are so deep inside me right now."

Yeah. Try concentrating with that in your skull.

But then, she flexed.

Her arm lit with blue fire. White-hot (Blue hot?) and eating the oxygen around it like it was starving.

Dabi's fire.

She had it. Somehow.

And the second she let me feel it through the link, I had it too. Like her Quirk ran through our bond and just decided I was allowed now. Flames sparked behind my eyes, danced along my veins like they were always there.

I did not ask questions.

I just grinned.

From then on, we tested a few more quirks, and I gave her a few bloods that I thought might come in handy. Now she was using Todoroki's.

Which meant I was too.

Mirko glanced over just as my right arm went up in fire and my left bloomed with ice, spreading like a busted pipe across the tile. WEM caught the flame and held it, tip lit like a torch, shaft smoldering red.

"What the actual fresh-baked fuck are you doing?" she asked.

I grinned. "Hehe. This? This is just foreplay."

Izuku stared at the girl standing next to Edgeshot and Best Jeanist. She looked bored, chewing on something and not bothering to hide it.

Gran Torino smacked him between the shoulder blades. "Man up. You're the charge here. Ryuu trusts you."

"I know," Izuku muttered, dragging in a breath and trying not to choke on it.

Momo said nothing but kept glancing at him and Kaminari like they might bolt. Jiro looked restless, a change from her deadpan. Mineta, of course, was sitting on a rock like they were on a picnic.

"Being backup is nice," he said, flicking a pebble off his knee.

Mina glared, but even she didn't say anything. Shoji shifted like he wanted to slap the guy into the stratosphere, but held back.

Everyone was tense, but Izuku and Kaminari looked like they might piss lightning if anyone so much as coughed wrong. They were the front, with Tokoyami behind, silent, way too calm for this.

Izuku leaned toward Gran Torino. "Who is the girl?"

The old man didn't blink. "Ryuu's contact. Focus. We took three heads already. The rest are just noise."

Best Jeanist gave a nod. Edgeshot flattened and disappeared into the trees without a word.

Jeanist didn't wait. "Move in. Pin them. No speeches."

Cementoss slammed both palms into the ground. The hill split like a peeled orange, walls burst open, concrete flooding the villa before half the villains even looked up. Furniture cracked. Screams hit next.

Kamui's vines shot through the openings, grabbed two runners by the necks and yanked them out like weeds. Midnight dropped from the ledge, sprayed a mist straight into the mouths of a small group stumbling through the smoke. They dropped like bags of trash.

Someone inside screamed "REVOLUTION!"

Denki blinked fast, already sparking.

"Front!" Jeanist snapped.

Amplivolt burst through the dining hall window like a pissed toaster, crackling wild. Lightning arced.

Kaminari froze for a second, then Midnight grabbed his shoulder and shoved. He absorbed the lightning mid-step. The jolt rocked him, but he stayed upright.

Edgeshot came back down as a blur, sliced through air, dropped five with one pass. Pierced legs, bodies slumped.

"Don't let them group!" Gang Orca's voice cracked through the dust. He was already in the middle, two villains dragging under his arms. "Break lines!"

Mudman (Juzo Honenuki) swallowed the floor ahead. One guy tripped mid-run and didn't come back up. Shemage (Kinoko Komori)'s spores exploded from the ground. Half a squad tripped into mushrooms, hacking.

Tokoyami moved without sound. His shadow, Dark Shadow, ripped one off the wall and flung them back into a support beam.

Cementoss redirected support beams into rising barricades, splitting hallways. Two tried to run through, Majestic caught them in a floating ring and spun them off like bowling pins.

Jeanist barked back. "Keep moving!"

Ms. Joke laughed as she decked someone through a broken doorframe.

"Found your sense of humor!" she shouted at the dazed idiot stuck under Fatgum's foot.

Fatgum didn't even blink. "He is breathing. Next."

Mt. Lady stomped the left wing. Roof broke on impact. Someone tried to fly out, Snipe clipped his wing with one shot. Ground finish from Orca's elbow.

Izuku charged like a damn cannon, black whips snapping off him, catching two before they even blinked. One slammed into the stair rail, the other face-first into the concrete. Cementoss forced open the floor beneath the villa, and the second wave poured in.

AN: Guys, a little chest-off moment. Today I published the final chapter of this fic, and honestly, I cried a bit. It felt kinda sad, like saying goodbye to your child as a parent. The chapter itself was a bit emotional too (not tragic), and the images were nice too. So yeah... if anyone wants to be the big spoon and hug me, sneak into my DMs.
