The truth was even darker than they had thought. Brandon and Kabir spent the rest of the day digging more into Evan Swan. Over the years, he had not only taken over, but he had also made sure Kabir had enemies—people he had never met or clashed with.
It wasn't until past dinnertime that Kabir and Brandon finally stepped out.
The kids had not retired to bed as they thought. Kabir walked over to the living area where his family sat watching a late-night show.
"Dad," Alec stood up and rushed into his father's arms. Kabir picked him up without delay.
"I'm sorry I've been too busy," he said, and the boys nodded.
"Come… Let's watch the show in my room," Brandon offered, taking them without delay.
