Ever since the great revelation, Kabir questioned everything in his life. Chief Lucas had long returned to the coldness of his mansion, but Kabir was yet to set foot out of the study. He stayed locked in, shut out from everyone. Two days went by, and the children began asking, but what excuse was left to tell when they knew their father wouldn't answer their pleas nor reach out to their cries?
Blair was tired of asking. But Brandon was stubborn. He stood at the door, knocking and calling. Kabir was tired of constantly sending him away.
"That's enough, Brandon!" He roared from within, but unlocked the door.
Brandon marched in with a proud smirk. "What is wrong with you? I thought we were past this attitude of shutting people out?" he yelled, but Kabir only walked to his seat quietly. He did not look like one who had slept—his eyes carried bags, and his face was pale.
"What's happening to you, Kabir? One minute you're okay and the next you're exploding."
