Her steps echo — heavy and low. My eyes follow her every move, watch the way she scoops the gown in both hands. Even in a moment of crisis, she walks so high and mighty.
She is simply beautiful.
"Where are you going to?" Roy stands just as my chair scrapes against the floo
"To be with my Luna," I say loudly, in the direction of Chad and the sinister judge whose nose bridge is apparently too slippery for his glasses.
I don't look back—not at my father's piercing stares, Jack's concerned look, nor Roy's demanding presence.
It doesn't take long for me to locate her. The door to the only available bathroom is slightly open, muffled sobs followed by sharp gasps spilling out.
"Omega," I knock tentatively—not too harsh, not too low.
Her cries only intensify, prompting me to change my tone. I say again, voice low and soft, foreign to my own ears.
"Zara."
I don't look back—not at my father's piercing stares, Jack's concerned look, nor Roy's demanding presence.
