When I told Zara I had the perfect way of dealing with Chad, I wasn't kidding.
I hold the documents containing the radio transmission report from yesterday afternoon—right when the phone call happened.
I walk briskly, my feet moving ahead of me, and just the thought of Chad's slack-jawed face drives me forward.
I turn a corner, one more and I'll be at his office.
That's when I spot Lily's auburn hair… just before I see the menacing expression on her face, and Zara's timid one.
"What's going on here?" I frown.
Lily starts to panic. She loosens her tight grip on Zara's arm and grabs a few strands of her own hair, twisting them between her fingers like she's innocent.
She scurries away before I can inquire any further. My hands are in fists, ready to bash a head if need be. I don't stop her—Zara's worried look at her retreating figure stops me in my tracks.
Although we're not yet mated, my wolf can discern her emotions almost automatically.
