Chapter 15 - Foreboding

Bullseye had been searching for weeks, and he had made significant progress in his hunt. He managed to track some of the operatives down after the massacre that happened. he had been hiding as best as he could, fully aware of the snipers camping in the building near the school. As they retreated, he followed the snipers as they made their way back to wherever they came from. He had been stalking the group all the way into a convenience store, where they took turns going in at different times and from different directions. Bullseye has been keen to avoid the extra armed forces that engaged directly with the agents, as he felt that if he approached, he would be spotted fast.

Bullseye had been camping on a building far out from the convenience store and had been scouting the place ever since he found it and determined it to be a stronghold. Fisk was called up by Bullseye after he was certain he found the place. Fisk wasted no time and reported up the government chain that had asked him for the info; otherwise, it would force their hand onto him, seeing he was a local crime boss. Upon the information being transmitted across all the channels, the planning began. Bullseye, upon reporting the information, decided against raiding the place as he doubted he could take on the mysterious people, as even he felt afraid with his perfect aim.

The D-Class that had been awaiting trial were given the option of a second chance under the foundation, without anybody glancing an eye, as most departments required to make this happen had been subtly influenced by something to allow this to work. As soon as they agreed, they were put in a van filled with other death row inmates to be transported to the Large site.

[With 087]

Fury had received the news just as abruptly as everyone else. Coulson had made a mad dash towards him and, without warning, he had pulled off Fury's headphones and whispered into his ear. This new piece of information was yet to be confirmed, as it came from the criminal underworld, but if it was true, he had basically just been given the location of HYDRA's main base, if it were to exist, of course...

Fury was not alone in receiving this information, as all the figures present were also informed of the news and were ordered to quickly change from the scouting of this mysterious staircase to the planning and leading of an offensive. All the agents inside the staircase were urgently called up, including Natasha, since even if something lay down there, it wouldn't be able to escape a place this well guarded. Scp-087-1, however, was not about to let these people get off scot-free when it entered his domain. As the agents hustled up the stairs like ants, 087-1 manifested behind them and caused a deep feeling of unease to sprout within the ranks of the agents, Natasha included. The bunch making their way up felt the hairs on their skin rise, and they made quick turns and came face to face with 087-1. The moment they made eye contact with 087-1, their fear quintupled, and many agents started shaking. The shotgunners were at the back and were the first to point their weapons at the face and shoot unhesitatingly. Natasha, also feeling the paranoia and unease, grabbed the railing and jumped up to the next flight of stairs, pulling her pistol out and shooting. The other agents followed fast and started shooting indiscriminately, not able to handle the fear induced into them by the face.

They didn't watch for crossfire, and many were killed by fellow agents from different agencies, but even that didn't deter them from stopping. As the deaths piled up, it made the feeling worse and worse, eventually leading them to freeze, paralyzed from unknown fear. Natasha faired better as she was not in direct line of sight, and she was conditioned for this, but even then, she was deeply afraid.

Fury had stood up as he made his call, but he had never retracted his gaze from the footage, and now seeing the face chilled him, but only for a second, because soon all recording stopped working, and only the transmitters were still functioning.

The panic from those above solidified, and as it always was, they screamed into the transmitter, trying to convey orders without even knowing if they could hear them. The operatives positioned near the door were quick to notice the intensified panic and quickly pushed the door open and gave a warning off cut video recording, but no response came.

Natasha had started running the moment her body would allow her to, she didn't waste a second and hoped from railing to railing fully intending to get as far away from the face as she could, but as she ran she could hear distinct pleading from an unknown source and they definitely didn't belong to her team as she had already noted down each persons voice. The ones who were paralyzed had a fate unknown since their bodies would never recovered and not a single piece of blood or evidence would ever turn up again.

Natasha was locked deep down with only stairs and the occasional red blinking light. She had been climbing up at full speed for as long as she could, yet she had still not even seen the light or even heard the above world, as all she could hear was her own footsteps, the pleading voices coming from below, and the constant updates from Fury with clear hope that she was still alive and listening.

[With Ant]

I left as soon as I could for the large site with Josie, the MTF, and a few guards. As much as I love the convenience store its still just a small site with lacking defense capabilities and limited ammunition. As for the large site, it was off the radar, and considering it was larger, it should have more ammunition pre-stocked like the small site, except it had about 1 crate's worth of ammo that was almost out. I also needed to start letting the Class-D enter their new cells, and since the ethics committee still didn't exist, and I doubt I want it much, I can already imagine the lesser pain that will come from using the D-Class very willy-nilly.

The Scranton reality stabilizers were, according to the system, placed inside the main armory of the large site. Also, regarding the name, I really can't decide what to name it yet, saying Large site every time is quite annoying, but since I have yet to decide a name for either site, I guess I can start drafting ideas up. Man, why do I like talking to myself so much? Is my inside voice really that worthwhile, even though it probably knows more than I do? Shut up. Did I just tell myself to shut up? I'm starting to make sense of why my intelligence was rated as low, but this is minor, really; the system just thinks I'm dumb.

Scratch that line of thought right now, I should start considering a few things, 087 is no longer under Foundation control, which is fine, I planned that anyway. The next thing to consider is the scary idea I had, seeing as I got MTF-psi 8, how high are the chances that the next SCP will have do with reanimation, like 008 or something? I mean, sure, I received Psi-8 and got 087, but even still, I'm not convinced this randomizer is that random. Last thing on my mind is the inevitability of my encounter with the main plotline. Listen, I'm well aware that I'm being hunted like a buck right now. How do I deal with facing off with shield? I don't know, I've racked my brain so many times, still I can't decide how I can negotiate with them or even defeat them if worse comes to pass.

[With Fury]

He had been convinced that Natasha was still alive, unlike the rest of the agents, who he believed had died already. he had been routinely sending updates with the transmitter, expecting no response. He had to leave soon to prepare the offensive against the organization, so he was planning to leave Coulson behind as he set up the battle plan.

It pained Fury to leave Natasha behind, considering she was one of the best agents, but he had to think rationally and determine problems on a scale from not important to important as they arose, such as the tri-speared organization. He had sent his final message, and he made his way out towards the drawing board with the other agencies as they also received the news.

The next few chapters could be considered the end of the 087 arc I suppose.
