He shoved a hand into his pocket, and ran the other through his hair. "God help me," he said with a smile as he slid back into the back seat. 


Inside the car, his driver risked a glance through the rearview mirror. "Everything alright, sir?"


Richard gave a small smile, more to himself than anyone else. "No," he said. "But I wouldn't have it any other way. To the company," he added, signaling the end of the conversion.


As the car pulled away from the driveway, from the shadows across the street, a figure slowly lowered a phone. 


The screen showed the frozen images of Shantel and Richard, caught in an intimate frame that could be easily misunderstood.


Almost immediately, a message popped up: 'Delivered.'


And with that, the shadow vanished into the night. 


At the same time the message on the other end, Shantel also received a message on her phone.


"Watch your back, boss. You're being watched."


Instantly Shantel called Jack's number.
