Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

Just thinking about it made Aurora Perish sigh.

Noticing her slumped over the table, the woman beside her finally spoke. "Do you want me to teach you?"

Aurora Perish nodded lazily. The concept was just too difficult for her—like trying to read a completely foreign language she didn't understand at all.

Aurora Perish noticed Freya sliding the book to the middle, placing it between them. From this angle, even with Freya Hazel just sitting there, the graceful curve of her body was still visible. She looked effortlessly elegant—even while simply sitting there and looking at the book.

Aurora Perish couldn't help but straighten her own posture.

With such an elegant lady sitting beside her, Aurora Perish felt she shouldn't be slumping in her chair.

Noticing Aurora's subtle change in posture, a faint smile appeared on Freya Hazel's lips. At first, she didn't understand why Aurora Perish was reading that kind of book—it was a bit suspicious. But for now, she decided not to press the issue.

Freya asked Aurora which part she didn't understand. Aurora replied that she was confused about the biological relationships in the Omegaverse—specifically the pheromonal interactions between Alphas and Omegas.

She also asked what would happen when someone's secondary gender presents between the ages of 16 to 18. Would there be any difference if it happened earlier or later than usual?

Aurora glanced at Freya, expecting to see confusion or impatience in her eyes. After all, these were basic questions that most students had already learned back in elementary school. But to her surprise, Freya showed no trace of irritation or judgment.

Instead, Freya patiently explained the biological relationships in the Omegaverse—the differences in pheromones between Alphas and Omegas, and Aurora's earlier question about secondary gender presentation and its timing.

They became so absorbed in their discussion that neither of them realized how much time had passed. Afternoon classes had already started. Since Aurora Perish was part of the morning batch, she didn't mind—she'd be out of school earlier anyway.

Still, Aurora began to feel a little guilty. She glanced at the teacher beside her and asked, "Professor, is it okay for you to still be teaching me at this hour?"

Freya looked at her and replied calmly, "Mhm, my classes finished earlier."

Aurora's eyes widened in surprise. Her mouth formed a silent "O." She was in the morning batch too? Aurora hardly saw her around.

Noticing her thoughts, Freya added, "I teach the upper-level classes." She smiled softly—her phoenix shaped eyes gleaming with a playful, almost fox like mischief. Whenever Freya smiled like that, there was something undeniably seductive about her.

Aurora, staying calm on the outside, merely nodded. For a brief moment, Freya's eyes showed a flicker of surprise, but it vanished quickly.

Internally, though, Aurora was cracking up. Freya's smile reminded her of one of those meme JPGs.

She wanted to burst out laughing, but of course, she held it in. On the outside, she wore a neutral, almost blank expression—but deep down, she was a complete clown. Only her old friends knew this side of her. If they were here now, seeing her face so neutral, they'd instantly know Aurora was mocking someone.

After all, she was a little clown in her own world. But since Freya taught so well—and with such clarity Aurora instantly grasped the concept. It made much more sense than what she had read in the book.

Freya really was good at teaching. Well, she was a teacher, after all. No wonder she was already teaching college level classes, even though she was still so young.

As for why she was here at the high school, Freya was running an errand for the upper level division of the school—specifically for the group of genius students aiming for top-tier colleges. They needed extra classes, and Freya had volunteered to help.

Well, it made sense. She was still a new teacher, and taking on tasks like this probably helped her gain experience and favor with the school.

Those classes were meant to support students who were struggling financially, helping them qualify for scholarships when applying to their chosen colleges.

Realizing this, Aurora knew she needed it—especially since college was just around the corner. Even though she struggled with Omegaverse related subjects, she figured she could make up for it with her stronger subjects... except history. Her understanding of that was trash too.

She needed to grind harder in the areas she was weak in. Given her tight schedule, the only free time she had left was the five hours she reserved for sleep.

"Damn..." Aurora muttered. She had hoped to at least live like a salted fish. But since she hadn't been born rich in her previous life or this one she'd just have to work harder than the rest.
