Third person point of view
Aravind was done with his shift. He walked out and let out a sigh. He felt tired than usual. One of them in the kitchen made a mistake with the cupcakes and they had to make them right away and Aravind had to help them. There were also unexpectedly a lot of customers and he was squeezed completely.
He glanced around looking for Dev. He said he would come pick him up, but he was nowhere in sight. Aravind checked the time. He was done 15 minutes later than his shift. He sighed and decided to wait for a while. He stood there for 10 minutes but still nothing. He called Dev but he didn't pick up. Aravind hung up.
He called again in 5 minutes. There was still no answer. He huffed and frowned. He waited for another 15 minutes and called 2 more times. But there was still no response. He was done. He walked to the bus stop nearby and went home. Dev was done with his work and changed into his clothes. He picked up his phone and saw the missed calls from Aravind.
" Shit ". He forgot about picking up Aravind. He quickly picked up his things and ran out. He took a taxi and reached home. He went in and kicked his shoes off. He walked in and saw Aravind watching television. He walked closer to be in Aravind's view. " Dinner is on the table. Heat it up if you want ".
Aravind said without taking his eyes off of the screen. Dev gulped in fear knowing Aravind was angry. He fucked up big time. He silently went to the bedroom and took a shower. He then had the dinner and put all the dishes away. He also cleaned them all. He went to the living room and Aravind was in the same place.
Dev rubbed his neck and went to sit on the couch. He sat with a distance between them. He glanced at Aravind and moved a little bit closer. Aravind didn't react. Dev continued to move closer little by little. He was finally beside Aravind. Aravind still said nothing. He was watching the show with a blank face.
Dev moved and sat facing Aravind. He tentatively put his hands around Aravind. Aravind didn't push him away. Dev gained some courage from that. He moved closer and hugged him tighter. " Go sleep. You must be tired from work ". Aravind said but Dev didn't remove his hands. He rested his chin on Aravind's shoulder. " Sorry ".
Aravind clenched his jaw and didn't say anything. " I am really sorry. I put the phone in silent and forgot to change it. Boss showed me a new vehicle and I forgot about other things while working on it. That is why I didn't notice your calls ". Dev quickly explained and waited for Aravind's reaction.
Aravind just gulped and spoke after a few seconds. " Go sleep ". Dev frowned harder. " I am telling you I am sorry- " Aravind had enough of it. " Do you think you are the only one working ? " Dev stopped speaking. " Fine. You were really into it but would leaving a text kill you ? It was already a long day and now I have to deal with you ".
Aravind mumbled and rubbed his forehead. His head was throbbing. Besides the fact that his day was like that, he was also worried when Dev didn't pick up. He didn't know if something happened or anything for that matter. Dev heaved a sigh. He pulled Aravind, hugging him into his arms. Aravind had his head on Dev's chest. He took a deep breath.
Dev looked down and pressed a kiss to his head. " Sorry. I won't do it from next time. I won't let you worry ". Aravind just closed his eyes and controlled his breathing. Dev rubbed Aravind's head. " I... just... " Aravind wanted to speak but couldn't get himself to. " I know ". Dev kissed Aravind's forehead. " Sorry ". He hugged Aravind tighter.
Aravind also hugged Dev back. Dev rubbed his back. Aravind pulled away and looked at Dev still mad. Dev gave a small smile. " Bangaram... " He took Aravind's hands in his. " Sorry. Forgive me ? Hm ? I swear I won't do it ever again. There is no next time. Promise. You can punish me however you want if I do it ". Dev said confidently.
Aravind looked like he was considering it. " Fine ". Dev smiled. Aravind continued speaking. " Next time something like this happens, you will sleep on the couch for a week and with your hands completely off me. We will maintain at least 3 feet distance ". Dev was shocked. " That's too harsh ".
" It has to be for you to be obedient ". Aravind said and Dev was at a loss. He nodded anyway. " Alright ". There is no way he would let it happen knowing the condition. " Did you wait long ? " Aravind shrugged. " I was late by 15 minutes and waited for like half an hour ". Dev felt bad. He hugged Aravind again.
" Sorry ". " It is fine. There was so much work and even I was acting more sensitive today. It's alright ". Dev smiled. He kissed Aravind's cheek. " You are the best ". Aravind snickered. " Sure, sure. Work is still your first wife, isn't it ? " Dev was shocked. " No way. You are the first wife. Work comes next ".
" Really ? " Dev nodded with a serious expression making Aravind laugh. " I will believe it for now ". " I will prove it to you ". Aravind shook his head with a smile. " Let's go to sleep. My head can't handle this world anymore ". Dev chuckled. The both of them went to the bedroom. Dev cuddled with Aravind and fell asleep.
