Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Guy vs Velzard Part 2

The battle raged on between Guy and Velzard, shaking the entire world. Many nations were the first to bear the brunt of the fight. Huge earthquakes were felt across the world, forcing nations to work together to survive the crisis. Many powerful beings, such as Dagruel, Twilight Valentine, and Velgrynd—Veldanava's younger sister and Velzard's younger sister—also felt the fight. They decided not to interfere, or rather, they could not interfere at all in this powerful clash even if they were powerful. The two beings who were battling were the Top tier in the World.

Velzard was overjoyed. It was hard to tell from her expression, but she was enjoying the battle with Guy from the bottom of her heart. There were not many beings she could fight with equally; her elder brother, Veldanava and Origin could easily defeat her, and her younger sister, Velgrynd, was not powerful enough to fight her. This fight with Guy was truly exciting for her.

Guy and Velzard clashed in a cosmic battle, their auras scorching the heavens. Yet, their immense power remained mostly contained so as not to affect the world too much, but even with such control, the aftermath was beginning to spread. Velzard appeared unaffected by Guy's attacks, not due to invincibility, but because he was still analyzing her ability to see what she possessed and whether he could copy it.

As the fight continued, Guy sped toward her, launching a straight punch which she narrowly dodged. Velzard, seeing the opportunity, launched a punch at Guy's stomach, which he also dodged. In the fraction of a second they traded moves, Guy launched a powerful kick at Velzard's gut, sending her flying back. Velzard, who felt the kick, quickly healed and launched a freezing frost breath at Guy, which he countered with his Calamity Claw, cutting the attack in half.

Velzard began searching for an opening to attack, but Guy never allowed one. For countless hours as the fight continued, Velzard had searched for a weakness, only to find Guy ever vigilant. Velzard, driven by a complex mix of emotions and the feelings of wanting to be acknowledged by her elder brother, Veldanava, and her friend, Origin, and to become the strongest, completely unleashed all her power to defeat Guy.

Sensing an overwhelming dread, Guy instinctively retreated just as the space he had occupied erupted into a violent storm of ice and snow. Velzard had abandoned all strategy, unleashing her full power in an uncontrollable surge. Her magic energy, second only to Veldanava's, swelled into a destructive tsunami, even pushing Guy back as it froze the entire Northern Continent, turning it into an Ice Age. Yet, this sheer devastation was not even intentional; it was merely the manifestation of her overwhelming emotions. Misery and the remaining demons in the Northern Continent sensed the dread and immediately teleported away, not wanting to be turned into ice statues and killed by the aftermath of the fight.

Origin and Veldanava, who were watching the battle, spoke. "Shouldn't you do something, Origin?" Veldanava asked as if intending to push this matter on Origin, deciding that if this Ice Age spread across the world, it would be catastrophic. Origin placed a barrier around the entire Northern Continent to contain their clashing magicules and aura.

Both Guy and Velzard, who were fighting, realized it was Origin's barrier. Velzard smiled; it seemed she could fight now without worrying. Guy was also smiling; now that the barrier was up, he could fight without any concerns.

Inside the barrier, Guy and Velzard's battle raged with terrifying intensity. A silence settled, an unspoken understanding of the fragile balance they faced.

"Now that Origin has placed the barrier around us, we can fight without worrying," Velzard spoke.

Just as she spoke, the world was consumed by absolute stillness, a frozen void that halted all natural laws. This was not just ice; it was Eternal World, a power that opposed Guy's own. Guy now faced the pressing question: how could he stop her and defeat her?

A flash of absolute freeze grazed him, piercing his barriers and cutting through his defenses. In the distance, entire mountains collapsed, not from an explosion, but from the sheer unravelling of molecular bonds. This was raw destruction, far beyond conventional magic. Unlike Guy, True Dragons unleashed their full power without concern for collateral damage, making them nearly unstoppable.

Yet, Guy had made a promise to Veldanava, one he would not break. He had to protect the world. But now thinking, since that bastard Origin had placed a barrier around the Northern Continent, Guy finally became serious. This was among the worst situations he had ever faced, but it did not mean defeat. His Ultimate Skill, Lucifer Lord of Pride, allowed him to replicate and copy any ability he had seen, making him the most dangerous being alive to many who knew about it. He had already incorporated countless techniques and moves from many beings, including Velzard's frost magic and Origin's moves and techniques.

Guy shattered Velzard's absolute stock, overcoming its frozen grip through sheer force of will. Her power, an extreme force that halted all kinetic energy, was absurdly absolute, but its sheer extremity allowed him to resist it. More than anything, he had gained time to observe her closely to understand her Ultimate Skill, to counter her and defeat her.

Guy ignited his core and unleashed a Napalm Burst, a writhing dragon of flame meant to attack her and attract her attention. Yet even that was useless; Velzard's Diamond Dust scattered his flames effortlessly, erasing them with a breath of absolute frost. Guy clicked his tongue, inwardly acknowledging that Velzard was indeed strong, worthy of being a True Dragon.

Their battle had already surpassed time itself, stretching across an endless frozen battlefield. Despite neither starting at full strength, they had fought in a realm where only beings at the True Dragon level could survive. Guy, ever composed, showed no openings. His movements were flawless, as if he could predict her every move. Velzard knew this. More impressively, he wasn't even using his own energy; he was drawing magicules from the atmosphere, seamlessly converting them into spells with no delay. What would have been inefficient for most was effortless for him. This was why he was called and known as the strongest of the primordial demons.

Guy's greatest weapon wasn't raw power but observation. With a mere glimpse, he could comprehend and counter any ability. Velzard realized that if she relied solely on Patience King Gabriel, her chances of victory would be nonexistent, and she knew that if she kept the fight going for long, she would definitely lose the battle.

Guy formed a few spheres of compressed space and aimed them at Velzard: Space Destruction. Guy threw the attack at Velzard. Copied from Origin, this move finally came in handy, Guy thought. Seeing the attacks, Velzard coated her hands in her aura and swatted them away, causing them to explode. This was the opening Guy needed. When Guy launched the initial attack, he had laced the spheres with a secret trigger: upon contact with Velzard's aura, they would burst into a wave of magicules. Guy instantly teleported above her, stretched out his hand, and declared: "Enuma Elish!"

He unleashed a devastating, powerful beam of aura that slammed directly into Velzard, sending her crashing back deep into the ground and leaving a trail of destruction along the way. In just a few seconds, Velzard returned, fully healed using the Infinite Regeneration that True Dragons possessed. Though fully healed, her expression showed she was not happy.

Velzard then used her Ultimate Skill, Patience King Gabriel, activating its ability called Fixation and froze Guy in a single place. Before she could attack him, Guy quickly moved away from that place and, grinning, asked, "So Origin used this move that he copied from you?"

Hearing this, Velzard immediately thought, It seems Origin used her move while fighting Guy. The fact that Guy could easily diffuse this ability must mean two possibilities: first, that Guy possessed the ability to block the abilities of other skills, and second, that he could also use this move, which must mean that he can copy others' skills, including Ultimate Skills. Realizing this, Velzard felt her advantage was completely lost, so she used her trump card: the Suspended World.

Everything was stopped. Only a few beings—Origin, Veldanava, and Feldway—could move within the suspended time. Guy was also experiencing the Suspended World for the first time, but this time he could feel and sense it but could not move. He realized this must be the thing Origin used to defeat him the last time they fought. Upon realizing this, Guy used all the power of his Ultimate Skill, Prideful King Lucifer, to completely adapt to the Suspended World. Guy could feel that slowly but surely, he was beginning to slightly move.

Just as Velzard's fist was about to strike his face, Guy finally felt he could move and jumped back using a summersault. Seeing this, Velzard was shocked. "How could you move in the Suspended World?" she asked.

"Well," Guy said, with an almost ridiculous answer, "I am able to do this because I am strong."

Hearing this ridiculous answer, Velzard almost became mad but quickly calmed down. Velzard soon realised that Guy quickly adapted to the Suspended World, so she now knew there was no way she could defeat Guy, nor could Guy defeat her quickly unless he had an attack that could defeat her in an instant. They both could keep on fighting forever, but this could not work. She knew this battle should end.

So, she spoke, "Guy, how about we call this a tie? You cannot defeat me quickly, and I cannot defeat you, so how about we call it a draw? After all, we both cannot keep fighting forever."

Guy also nodded and agreed. After all, he could not find a way to quickly defeat Velzard, so this battle could go on forever. Velzard undid the Suspended World, allowing everything to return to normal.

Upon seeing this, both Guy and Velzard came down onto the ground from the air. Origin and Veldanava, who were watching, sighed.

"It seems to be a tie, Sir Veldanava," Origin said.

Veldanava nodded. "But Guy did not seem to use his Genesis Sword World."

Origin replied, "That Guy must be holding back." Origin snapped his fingers and undid the barrier surrounding the Northern Continent.

"Oh, that lazy Origin must have liked seeing our battle," Guy said, sensing the battle was over as the barrier was removed.

After three days and three nights of fighting, even the world's axis had shifted. But this time, Guy had made exquisite changes. The entire Northern Continent, which had always been desolate until now, had been turned into a land of an everlasting Ice Age. Guy couldn't help but sigh as he called out to Misery.

The battle was over. Misery and the surviving demons came along, quickly kneeling directly before Guy and not daring to raise their heads. Misery bowed. "There should be no problem for humanity. There was some damage to mankind as well, but with all nations working together to deal with the natural disaster, casualties were kept to a minimum."

For the people who lived there, it was a disaster. But to Guy, it was nothing more than a laughing matter. As for Misery, as long as Lord Guy was happy, they were happy. Guy's castle, which had been covered with ice in the aftermath of the battle, had turned out to be beautiful.

"That's nice. Let's keep it as a memento," Guy said.

"Then I'll take care of it. I can at least help you with this," Velzard said.

The temperature in the surrounding area dropped to an extreme level due to the magicules leaking from Velzard. From then on, the castle had become too frigid for the weak to invade.

A few days quickly passed. Though the battle was over, the news spread around the world that the entire world shook due to the fight between the First Demon Lord Guy and the Frost Dragon Velzard. The entire world became especially fearful, particularly some people who thought they could defeat Guy.

Living in the castle, Velzard's dragon form was inconvenient. When Guy pointed this out, Velzard easily transformed into human form. In her adult form, Velzard had complete control over her aura, but instead, she chose to maintain a slightly younger form. In this way, the aura that leaked out would become cold air, and the castle's defense would be perfect. Although, there was no one who would attack the castle in the extreme cold, where not even monsters could easily survive...

"How about this?" said Velzard.

"Well, it's good, though it's not my style," said Guy.

"Jeez! You're so mean."

Velzard complained outwardly, but deep down, she was actually quite fond of Guy. Deep in her heart, she secretly vowed that one day she would win Guy over with her charm. After the fight, she couldn't help but feel new emotions towards Guy.
