Main World, Lunar Capital.
After working through the night without rest, a refreshed Veyron stepped out from the side palace where Tsukuyomi resided. At the doorway, he let out a small sigh of relief.
—Yesterday, after breaking the "wall" and blocking the "author", he suddenly realized something serious.
If, before this, his fate had always been nothing more than the product of a few keystrokes by that guy, then what did that make of his entire life? The experiences before and after crossing worlds, and even the worldview and values shaped by them—were they truly his?
Every event, big or small… were the so-called choices really his own?
As someone who had already lit the Soul Light, the answer was clear. Even knowing there had once been an "author" pulling strings, he could confidently say: Yes.
Still, there were some things where—even knowing the answer—he wanted to confirm it personally.
And now, he had confirmed it.
Whether or not there was an author, his desires, those restless urges… they were genuinely his.
"Good morning~"
He hadn't walked far before bumping into the Watatsuki sisters. It had been a while since he last saw them outside Tsukuyomi's palace, and Veyron greeted them cheerfully. "Here to discuss something with her?"
"Actually… we've been waiting for you since last night."
Toyohime's face flushed pink. She avoided his gaze, pretending to study the cloud patterns carved into the nearby wall, though she was stealing glances at him out of the corner of her eye. Seeing this, Yorihime forced a strained smile.
"And?"
Veyron, who already knew what was going on, gestured for her to continue.
This wasn't the first time, after all.
Back when the sisters didn't yet realize that the nightly visits between him and Tsukuyomi were a matter of unspoken consent, they had tried to interfere early in the mornings—thinking they were sparing her from some kind of suffering. He knew full well they were lurking outside each night when he slipped into Tsukuyomi's chambers.
Which made today all the more curious.
If before, when they weren't sure of Tsukuyomi's attitude, they only pretended to stop by with polite greetings while conveniently getting in his way—why were they suddenly being so blunt today?
"…Did you… spend last night in Mother's chambers?" Yorihime bit her lip and forced the question out.
Because Veyron disliked the title "Father," the sisters had long since switched to calling Tsukuyomi "Mother." And it was better that way, Tsukuyomi was a woman after all.
"I did."
Veyron nodded.
'Really? Will the taste be the same as last time?' x2
They were, of course, thinking about the Almighty Serum. The two of them had already experienced it once before, when Tsukuyomi himself made them taste it.
And even if Tsukuyomi had only given each of them a single drop of the Almighty Serum, Veyron's senses were far too sharp not to notice the changes in them.
Yorihime's face twisted with a mix of anger, pain, and humiliation. After a long, heavy look toward Tsukuyomi's palace behind Veyron, her expression hardened with resolve.
"…Can I ask you to let Mother go?"
Veyron: "???"
"If you're willing to leave her alone… then I—my sister and I—will be at your mercy instead."
Yorihime drew a deep breath, finally revealing the true reason why the sisters had stopped him at the gates today.
"Oh?"
Veyron raised an eyebrow.
The truth was, the sisters hadn't originally planned anything like this.
Yes, that thing of Veyron's was miraculous, but they were Lunarians—beings with near-eternal lifespans. Even after Kaguya took the throne, they still retained the status of Lunar Princesses. With both Kaguya and Veyron around, they were never really in danger. No fear of death, no urgent need for power. So why bother chasing after that kind of "benefit"?
Besides, Tsukuyomi had gone so far as to deliberately shatter her perfect image in their eyes, just so they wouldn't keep interfering. That kind of determination… if even she couldn't walk away, what excuse did they have?
Their flimsy resistance collapsed in no time.
Yorihime's ability was to summon and channel the powers of Shinto gods.
Naturally, that included "Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto"—their Mother.
After Kaguya ascended as the new ruler of the Moon, Tsukuyomi's power grew day by day, thanks to Veyron's constant visits. Yorihime had noticed this.
But one day, Tsukuyomi's strength suddenly skyrocketed—not just sun and moon level, but vast enough to rival the stars and the universe itself.
The sisters thought back to that day. The very same day Tsukuyomi had spent hours in her palace with Veyron, and then emerged… transformed.
They couldn't help thinking: 'Since we already tasted a drop back then, what's the harm in having a little more now?'
As for today's carefully chosen words, those came straight from Tsukuyomi's own advice.
"Back then, even I could create both of you and Kaguya. With his status being leagues beyond mine… do you really doubt that he could create anything he wants, in any number, any form, whenever he wishes?"
She had said this so casually—hiccupping at times, even blowing little bubbles—without bothering whether they were listening or not.
"So if you don't just want short-term gain, and you're thinking about the long run, then unlike Kaguya, who has deep bonds with him, you two had better find a way to leave him with an unforgettable impression…"
Like you did?
If not for the awe Tsukuyomi still commanded after years of authority, the sisters might've actually asked her that out loud.
But after witnessing her staggering metamorphosis—one so extreme that even "divine" felt like an understatement—the sisters were glad they had swallowed the question back then.
"I do like obedient children like you."
Veyron, now fully aware of what the sisters were offering, looked Toyohime up and down, then Yorihime as well, before nodding in satisfaction. "Perfect timing. I wasn't quite done earlier anyway. Why don't you show me your sincerity first?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, the sisters realized they were no longer standing at Tsukuyomi's palace, but back in their own family residence. Specifically, in a traditional tatami room connected on either side to their separate bedrooms, with a front door that opened onto a garden of blooming peach blossoms.
The sisters blushed as they slipped out of their clothes; they had already sought guidance and learned how to please him.
Later...
With Toyohime's thighs pressed around his head and Yorihime working her mouth below, Veyron felt overwhelmed with bliss.
