Even with the certainty that she was prepared for the worst, Raine's heart kept pounding even after the bell rang, dismissing the class. Everyone stood up to leave, chatting and laughing, but she just sat there like a stone, wondering if she really had to go.
Killian noticed how lost she had been since the class started and touched her arm. "You good?"
She nodded. "Yeah. I just… need some air."
"Want me to come with you?"
"No," she said quickly, forcing a small smile. "I'll be fine. I'll text you later."
"Seems you need your alone time. I will be off. Come to my dorm, let's study together later. You remembered I promised to help you with spell class."
Raine smiled at Selena and nodded. If not for the part where she needed to meet the rooftop stranger, she would have followed her immediately. She desperately needed to explore that part of her.
