At that moment, Rebecca's calm expression didn't seem to shake Abigail one bit. Instead, Abigail sat up straighter, folding her arms as she let out a small, annoyed scoff.
"I'm sorry," Abigail said, her voice direct but still controlled. "But I honestly don't understand what you're talking about. I've never met you before in my life. I don't know who you are, and I don't understand why you're acting like we're supposed to know each other. We don't. So I don't see any reason why you're suddenly trying to be friendly or act like we're on the same side."
Rebecca tilted her head slightly, watching Abigail with interest.
"Let's just be clear here," Abigail continued sharply, "you and I have no connection. No reason to talk unless there's something important. So instead of going around in circles, why don't you just focus on your own business and tell me what the point of this meeting is? That's all I want to know. That's the only reason I came here."
