He buried them carefully, trying to honor them in the only way he could now. But every handful of sand felt like a punishment. The guilt crushed him. This was all his fault. If only he had left Xylonia when Sabrina failed to show up with the payment. If only he had chosen his family over revenge. Maybe his children would still be alive.
But he didn't. He stayed back because he wanted to make Sabrina pay. He wanted her to suffer for what she did to him. Now, he had lost more than he ever imagined, and it wasn't worth it. Nothing was worth this pain.
