"Is it dead?" Billy asked, swallowing hard after seeing how Svetlana fought against such a terrifying monster. Their battle hadn't even lasted five minutes.
"Let's make sure by burning its body until nothing remains," Allen said as he tossed three incendiary grenades onto the Tyrant, reducing it to ashes.
Billy was left speechless—these people really seemed to enjoy blowing up their enemies.
"You look disappointed, Lana," Allen remarked, glancing at Svetlana.
"Yeah, a little. Its attacks were fast and strong, but every move was so easy to predict. I thought I'd finally get a worthy opponent, but honestly, that monster wasn't much different from a punching bag," Svetlana said, clenching her fist until her knuckles cracked.
Allen understood her feelings well, but that Tyrant was just the weakest one Umbrela had — and there were other Tyrants like 003 and 004 that were stronger. Maybe Svetlana would get a chance to fight them on equal footing down the line.
"Alright, let's move," Allen said. He glanced at a CCTV camera and bang! — shot it dead-on.
"Allen, why do you shoot CCTV cameras every time you see one?" Rebecca asked, a little puzzled.
"I just want to make sure we're not being watched," Allen replied, stepping closer to Rebecca.
Biliy, watching Allen's careful manner, was impressed. With their team's skills, he felt a twinge of envy — especially since Allen seemed to have very loyal teammates who wouldn't betray him.
The four of them came upon a huge gate blocking the road. As usual, Svetlana kicked it in with brute force. Who has time to go searching for a key right now? It's better to just force it open — besides, Allen was in the middle of a speed run.
Meanwhile, Wesker, who was making his way out of the facility, discovered that his escape route had been blocked by a swarm of leeches.
At first, Marcus intended to go after Allen and the others, but for some reason, his plans were put on hold the moment he caught sight of his enemy, Albert Wesker.
"Albert, long time no see," Marcus said.
"You again," Wesker muttered, slightly startled as he quickly raised his pistol and opened fire. He had no intention of wasting time talking with this B.O.W.—every second mattered for his escape.
Bang!.. Bang!.. Bang!..
"How dare you hurt my children, Wesker. Die!" Marcus shouted in anger, commanding the leeches to surge forward and attack.
Wesker reacted instantly, dodging Marcus's strike with sharp precision.
"Hahaha! Wesker, you're too weak to defeat me. Why not give up, accept your fate, and become food for my children?" Marcus mocked.
But of course, Wesker wasn't about to surrender. He swiftly hurled a grenade at Marcus—BOOM! The explosion tore through Marcus's body, leaving him writhing in agony.
"Ahhhh! Wesker!!!" screamed the Queen Leech, its body half-burned. Consumed by rage, it began to transform into a giant form, lashing out wildly at anything nearby.
Seeing the opportunity, Wesker slipped away, escaping through another route. The Queen Leech, furious that its prey had fled, roared in frustration and went in pursuit, following his trail.
Meanwhile, Allen, who had just arrived in the Control Room, remained completely unaware that elsewhere in the facility, Wesker and Marcus were locked in a deadly chase.
Some of the computers in the room were damaged, but not beyond use. Allen grabbed a storage disc and began copying the available data. The system was old, so he didn't have many options—he only managed to pull the most important files.
Meanwhile, Rebecca stepped into an adjacent room and found a lab filled with large tanks. "Allen, can you come here and take a look at this?" she called out after spotting something strange inside.
"What the hell is that?" Billy muttered.
Allen entered after finishing the data transfer—he had used an access code from his woman, Alex, which allowed him to easily bypass Umbrella's system.
"That's the result of genetic modification combined with the T-Virus. In short, this experiment can turn a rat into a tiger," Allen explained.
"And how exactly do you know that?" Billy asked suspiciously.
"I just pulled the data from the computer," Allen replied, with a simple excuse.
Svetlana, overhearing, just rolled her eyes. This man is really good at dodging questions.
"So, Allen, with this evidence, do you think we can finally report all the crimes Umbrella's been committing?" Rebecca asked, her voice carrying a hint of hope—maybe their case could finally be exposed.
Allen shook his head. "It won't be that easy. Even if we gather strong evidence, Umbrella still has enough power everywhere to cover things up. Remember—many have tried before us. Their reports never saw the light of day, or the investigators simply disappeared. I'm starting to believe parts of the government are involved in covering up Umbrella's activities."
Rebecca's expression grew heavy as she realized just how dangerous the situation really was. "But… is there at least something we can do about it?" she asked.
"At the very least, we wait for the right time to expose this. I just hope you'll have the patience until then," Allen answered.
Rebecca finally nodded in reluctant agreement.
"Alright, we'd better move. I've discovered this place won't be standing much longer—looks like someone else was here before us and is trying to wipe out the evidence," Allen told the group.
"What do you mean?" Billy asked, a little confused.
"Someone's activated this facility's self-destruction protocol. It won't be long before the whole place blows up," Allen explained.
Hearing that, everyone immediately agreed—it was time to get out as fast as possible.
The four of them then hurriedly left, although on their way out they were slightly hindered by several monsters such as some giant insects and a strange monkey that attacked them.
However, with Svetlana and Allen there, the monkey was quickly taken care of. Not long after, they finally reached the exit corridor leading to the main hall entrance.
Allen somehow felt that something was strange because they didn't encounter Dr. Marcus here, 'Maybe next time I should ask Raviel to lower my luck level.' He thought.
.....
Meanwhile, Wesker seemed to be having trouble; for some reason, he felt unlucky today because he kept being chased by Dr. Marcus.
And with all the hatred Marcus had carried for so long, in his final moments, the Queen Leech was driven to one single purpose—to relentlessly pursue Wesker. Of course, it had no intention of letting him slip away so easily.
Meanwhile, a few hours earlier, Sergei had received a report from Umbrella Intelligence: Wesker was making strange moves, actions that hinted at betrayal. Unwilling to let things slide, Sergei decided to see for himself what was happening.
Now, Sergei stood in front of two towering figures—Tyrant-003 stand tall and silent at his side.
"Hmph… Wesker, what are you truly plotting? Are you really going to betray Umbrella? If so… it seems I'll have no choice but to discipline you," Sergei muttered, Spencer's orders still sharp in his mind.
Without hesitation, Sergei made up his mind. He would head straight for Wesker's location to uncover the truth.
Meanwhile, Wesker kept running through the dark room, with Dr. Marcus—who had already transformed into a giant leech—relentlessly chasing after him.
"Die, Wesker!" Marcus shouted as he morphed part of his body into a whip that lashed out at Wesker from behind.
Seeing this, Wesker could only curse. "Shit!" He leapt forward, flipping into a somersault to dodge William's strike.
Baang! The whip tore through the air, ripping apart and destroying everything around it in an instant.
"Damn it," Wesker muttered with cold sweat—if he had failed to dodge, his body would have been split in two, or perhaps even worse.
But even so, Wesker didn't give up. He kept running while tossing a grenade toward Dr. Marcus.
"Eat this," Wesker said.
Boooom!! The explosion echoed once again—but this time, Dr. Marcus had managed to avoid the grenade.
"Shit," Wesker muttered, realizing the monster he was facing could learn and adapt quickly. It seemed the same tricks wouldn't work anymore. Still, this also piqued Wesker's interest a little—since the T-Virus could bring someone back from the dead and even grant superhuman strength. But for now, what mattered most was surviving—and not being eaten by the monster before him.
Without wasting time, Wesker ran again. When he finally reached an underground subway, he saw Sergei arriving, flanked by two Umbrella-made Tyrants.
"Wesker, you look like you're in trouble. Care to tell me if this is your doing? Seems like you've been conducting experiments behind Umbrella's back," Sergei said, mocking him.
"That's not my doing. That monster is Marcus! He is Dr. Marcus—he came back to life thanks to the T-Virus," Wesker said, leaping aside to dodge another attack, though his current situation was utterly humiliating.
"I'd appreciate it if you helped me out here," Wesker admitted, having no choice but to ask Sergei for aid.
"You're saying that monster is Dr. Marcus? You're not joking, are you?" Sergei replied, still indifferent to Wesker's struggle—but clearly intrigued by the revelation. If Marcus had truly returned from death, it meant the T-Virus held far greater potential than he imagined. He was already planning to secure a sample of Marcus to deliver to Spencer later.
"Yes, I'm not joking—and I really do need help here!" Wesker said, firing his pistol at Marcus, though the bullets proved useless against the Queen Leech.
"Fine. Move away," Sergei commanded, ordering the two Tyrants to advance and attack Dr. Marcus.
Meanwhile, Dr. Marcus stopped for a moment, shifting back into his human form—because he had recognized Sergei, someone he clearly knew.
"Umbrella dogs… you and Wesker—I'll make sure you all die here," Marcus snarled, before spewing countless leeches from his mouth and ordering them to attack everyone in the subway chamber.
His body then twisted and transformed once again into a giant leech, lunging toward the two Tyrant-003 units that advanced at him simultaneously.
Meanwhile, Wesker had managed to retreat and slipped far into the back, hiding. Instead of helping, he quietly pulled out a camera and began recording the battle, gathering combat data in secret—data he planned to sell later to Umbrella's enemies.
....
Meanwhile, Allen and his group were now in the main hall, but Svetlana stood still, sensing something strange. The atmosphere of the room felt like something was ready to ambush them just as they were about to leave this place.
"Wait, I feel something up ahead," Svetlana said, raising her rifle forward. Her instincts screamed that something bad would happen if they weren't careful.
But Billy seemed to think they didn't have much time for that. "I'll go ahead first, can you cover me from behind?" he asked the others. Everyone nodded at the same time.
Not long after, when Billy tried to take a step, the floor suddenly cracked. Allen, noticing this, quickly kicked Billy's body, sending him flying far away.
"Ugh! That hurts," Billy groaned, but when he saw a reptile-like monster there that had almost bitten him, he realized he was lucky to be saved by Allen's kick.
Meanwhile, Svetlana and Rebecca immediately opened fire on the monster, with Billy and Allen joining in, flooding the creature with a hail of bullets. The Hunter-type monster managed to endure for a while and tried to dodge the gunfire aimed at its body, but of course its efforts were useless—Svetlana's aim was too precise, tracking its every movement. Not long after, the Hunter-type zombie was finally killed.
Allen then tossed a grenade onto the monster's corpse—he didn't want to give it the chance to mutate and come back stronger to attack them later.
"Okay, let's get out of here. This place is about to blow," Allen said, as dawn seemed to be approaching soon. The others nodded, and Svetlana forcefully kicked open the exit door. Outside, three zombies hiding behind the door were thrown back violently. Allen and the others didn't forget to finish them off by shooting the zombies in the head.
.....
Meanwhile, Sergei and his two Tyrants were still facing Marcus, who seemed to be adapting quickly and was now fighting on equal footing with the two bio-weapons.
"Looks like I'll have to step in," Sergei said as he opened the supply case inside his vehicle. Inside was an RPG, which he then aimed at Marcus, still being restrained by the two Tyrants.
Whoosh! The sound of the rocket launching from the weapon was followed by Bang!!!—a massive explosion tearing Marcus's body into pieces.
"Hmph, truly weak," Sergei muttered before retrieving a case to collect the remaining samples from Marcus's remains.
But not long after Sergei retrieved the sample, an alarm echoed through the facility—the self-destruction system had been activated.
"This must be Wesker's doing," Sergei growled, scanning the area for him. But by now, Wesker was already gone.
With no other choice, Sergei finally decided to withdraw and make his escape, taking the two heavily injured Tyrants with him—along with the sample he managed to recover.
