"A year ago, my unit was sent to South Africa to deal with what we were told was a terrorist threat," Billy began, his voice low but steady.
"There were twenty-five of us in total. The heat was unbearable that day, and before long, we were surrounded—ambushed from every direction. One by one, my men started to fall."
His eyes grew distant, as if replaying the nightmare in his head.
"By the time we finally managed to break free, only four of us were left alive… including me. Facing death, exhausted from endless fighting, that's when we realized the truth—we'd been betrayed. When we reached the so-called mission target, expecting an enemy stronghold, all we found… was a village of innocent civilians."
Rebecca's lips parted in shock, but Billy pressed on.
"Our captain… he snapped. Frustrated, broken, and furious over the betrayal, he ordered us to wipe out the entire village." Billy's fists clenched at his sides, his voice tight with anger. "But I refused. I couldn't slaughter innocent people. And the moment I said no… everything went black."
He drew in a shaky breath, trying to keep his composure.
"When I woke up, I was in a prison cell. Somehow, all of their crimes—the massacre, the bloodshed—every single one of them was pinned on me. Even the judge, even the so-called Federation turned their backs and made me the scapegoat."
Billy's jaw tightened as he forced the words out, his tone caught between defiance and despair.
"They branded me a murderer… when all I did was try to do the right thing."
Meanwhile, Rebecca frowned at Billy's story—it was the first time she'd ever heard of something so cruel in this world.
"Allen… is he really telling the truth?" Rebecca asked softly, gripping Allen's hand. She still struggled to believe it.
Allen simply nodded. "Yeah… things like this happen more often than you'd think."
Svetlana shook her head, letting out a sharp, almost mocking laugh.
"There are far worse things out there—especially in politics and the military. If you knew half of it, you'd probably feel sick to your stomach."
Allen straightened up, his tone shifting back to focus.
"Alright, we'd better keep moving. If we're going to investigate this place, we need to be ready for the worst. Oh—and here, catch."
He tossed a pair of handcuff keys toward Billy.
Billy caught them midair, staring at Allen in surprise. "You… you believe my story?" he asked, his voice hesitant.
Allen gave him a faint smile. "I've actually known about you for a while. Don't bother asking how—it'd be too complicated to explain." He then placed a pistol and a box of ammunition near the stairs.
"And one more thing—you should leave this place. It's only going to get more dangerous from here. Take that, and get yourself out safely."
"Allen… are you sure this won't cause problems later?" Rebecca asked, concern in her voice.
"Don't worry," Allen replied calmly. "I'm convinced he's not the kind of man they made him out to be. Besides, if we came here to investigate this facility. It would only put us at greater risk if we had to drag along a prisoner and protect him—especially if we end up facing more of those strange monsters ahead."
Hearing that, Rebecca nodded in agreement. She trusted Allen's judgment—whatever decision he made, she believed it was the best for everyone right now.
"Thank you…" Billy said quietly. For the first time in a long while, someone actually believed his story. He looked at the three of them standing before him, hesitation flickering across his face before he spoke again.
"Wait—could I come with you? I know I can help. If this really is some dangerous Umbrella mess, then I can't just ignore it. Let me fight alongside you."
Allen studied Billy for a moment before giving a small nod.
"Alright. But I expect you to take care of yourself out there."
Meanwhile, Marcus had already made his way into the control room, his twisted eyes fixed on the surveillance monitors as he watched the intruders moving through the facility.
With a wave of his hand, he began releasing countless horrors—packs of zombies, grotesque Hunters, and even swarms of mutated monkeys and giant bats. As if that wasn't enough, he initiated the activation sequence for Umbrella's Prototype Tyrant-001, sending the creature on a relentless hunt for anyone who dared set foot inside.
A cruel, deranged laugh echoed through the control room.
"Hahaha! You will all become food for my precious children!" Marcus sneered, his humanity long since erased, replaced only by the will of the Queen Leech.
Back in the darkened corridors, Allen glanced at his watch, calculating their window of time.
"At least three hours until dawn," he muttered. "That's all we've got left to finish investigating this place."
...
Meanwhile, Lupo, Jill, and Athena had just arrived in Raccoon City. Jill had received troubling news from a contact at the RPD—Bravo Team had apparently lost communication somewhere in the Arklay Mountains.
The report immediately set her on edge. Fear and worry gnawed at her as she rushed toward the RPD, desperate to gather more information about her husband's status.
"I'm coming with you, Jill," Athena said firmly. She wasn't about to let her sister go alone—especially knowing how stubborn Jill could be. She wanted to watch over her, no matter what.
Jill gave a quick nod, silently grateful for the support. Moments later, the two women got into the car, Jill pressing down on the gas pedal as they sped off toward the RPD.
Left behind, Lupo could only shake her head with a sigh. She had been abandoned at the apartment for now, watching the others rush into danger.
Lupo actually wanted to go with them, but at the moment she also had to carry out another mission that had already been planned beforehand—helping Yoko Suzuki steal data from Umbrella. Lupo then began regrouping the members of the Black Rose team for their second mission.
....
Meanwhile, Allen, Billy, Rebecca, and Svetlana were standing in front of a heavy steel door, locked tight. From the panel beside it, it was clear the only way to open it was by solving some kind of puzzle.
"The door's locked… and of course it needs a puzzle to open. What kind of person designs a place like this?" Allen muttered, shaking his head. He honestly couldn't understand why Umbrella always made things harder with these bizarre mechanisms.
Before anyone could even attempt the puzzle, Svetlana stepped forward calmly. BANG! With a single powerful kick, the steel door caved in and swung open.
"You're… incredibly strong," Billy said in surprise. He hadn't expected anyone, let alone a woman, to force open a steel door with just one kick. In his mind, Svetlana was probably the strongest woman he had ever seen.
Svetlana only gave him a glance before looking away, saying nothing. She had no interest in making conversation, especially with someone she had just met.
They raised their weapons and slowly advanced into the facility. Inside, the stench of rot hit them immediately. Dozens of Umbrella staff lay dead—only to rise again as zombies.
"What the hell happened here? Why has everyone turned into monsters…" Rebecca said, firing at a group of zombies closing in on them.
"Looks like they were running experiments in this place," Allen replied, shaking his head. "But something leaked… and it turned the whole facility into a disaster."
"Allen, is this one of the sites where Umbrella was testing the T-Virus?" Rebecca asked. Her face was tense; she had already heard rumors about Umbrella's secret projects.
"I'm not exactly sure," Allen admitted. "But it sure looks that way."
Billy, still confused, finally spoke up. "Wait… so you guys knew something about this beforehand?"
Allen exhaled slowly before answering. "I've been trying to find proof of Umbrella's involvement in what's happening in the city. But… so far, nothing strong enough to take to the authorities."
Rebecca and Svetlana exchanged a brief glance but stayed silent. They already knew Allen hadn't told the full story—but at least he wasn't lying either. He had leaked bits of information about Umbrella to them before.
The deeper they went, the more grotesque creatures lunged at them. Luckily, Allen and the others cut them down with precise gunfire, dropping every monster that got in their way. Allen also made sure to shoot out every security camera they passed, never leaving a trace.
Watching through the monitors, Marcus grew increasingly furious at the intruders and finally dispatched Tyrant-001 to hunt them down.
In the disposal area's basement, heavy footsteps echoed closer and closer.
"What's that sound…?" Rebecca whispered, moving a little closer to Allen.
Billy tightened his grip on his weapon, eyes locked on the staircase. "Up there…" he muttered.
And then it appeared.
The towering figure—nearly three meters tall—leapt down in front of them with a thunderous crash.
"W–what the hell… is that even human?" Billy gasped, staring at the abomination. Its long, razor-sharp claws gleamed under the dim light, and its heart pulsed grotesquely, exposed outside its chest.
"Definitely not," said Allen. "You'd better fall back and let us handle this creature," Allen told Billy.
But of course, he wasn't about to easily accept Allen's order to retreat.
The Tyrant then leapt high, trying to lunge at them, but its attack was very easy to predict.
Bang!.. Rebecca tried shooting the Tyrant in the head, but the bullet bounced off, only making the monster angrier as it swung its claws at her.
"No you don't, you dare to tuch her!" Allen shouted, holding its arm back with ease.
Svetlana then kicked the Tyrant's body with full force, sending it flying backward into the wall, the impact cracking the concrete.
"Wtf," Billy muttered, shocked at their movements—no longer human, more like superhuman.
"Is it dead?" Billy continued, seeing the monster sprawled on the ground.
"I don't know, but stay alert," Allen replied.
And sure enough, it didn't take long before the Tyrant rose again, towering over them, its rage boiling. It began attacking anything in its path—but this time its glowing eyes locked on Svetlana. The creature clearly remembered the pain from her last kick, and now it wanted revenge.
Svetlana smirked with disdain. "Let me handle this one. Don't get in my way."
Allen gave her a small nod and pulled Rebecca back, giving space for the fight. Billy, however, stared in disbelief. What the hell is he thinking? Wouldn't it be safer if we fought this thing together?
The Tyrant roared and swung one massive claw, slicing the air with a sound sharp enough to make stone shiver.
Swish!Swish!Swish! Six brutal slashes tore through the air, each one powerful enough to shred concrete pillars.
But Svetlana moved like a phantom—her body twisting, spinning, ducking with deadly elegance, dodging every blow with inches to spare. Her heels clicked against the floor as she danced around the monster's strikes, unfazed.
Then she countered—raising her pistol in one fluid motion. Bang! The round tore straight into the Tyrant's eye.
The monster staggered back, screeching in agony, clutching its face.
"WUAAAHHH!" It roared, enraged, and lunged again, claws slamming down where she had just stood.
Svetlana ducked low, sliding between its legs, then snapped her heel into the back of its knee with a brutal kick. CRACK! The massive creature toppled forward, the ground trembling under its weight.
Its maw split open as it let out a guttural howl. Svetlana seized the moment. With lightning reflexes, she pulled a grenade from her belt, shoved it into the creature's mouth, and stomped down with the heel of her stiletto boot, forcing it to swallow.
Her eyes narrowed. "Chew on that."
She dove for cover just as Allen and the others did.
BOOOOM!
The explosion split the Tyrant's head open, blood and fragments spraying the walls. For a moment, it looked finished—yet the creature still twitched, staggering forward, driven purely by hate.
"Okay," Allen said coldly, leveling his rifle. "Let's end this together."
The others nodded. A hail of bullets tore into the Tyrant's exposed heart and shattered what remained of its skull. Finally, with a heavy crash, the monster collapsed and lay still.
