Chapter 510: Building a House
On the flyer handed over by the real estate agent, it clearly stated in bold letters:
"Captain Yamato — The Wood Style Construction Sage!"
In the ninja world, if someone achieved remarkable mastery in a specific craft, people often called them a Sage.
For example — there were people jokingly called the Ramen Sage, Barbecue Sage, or Sake Sage. Each earned their nickname for unmatched expertise in that one thing.
Naruto, however, was a little stunned.
"Wait a sec... when did Captain Yamato become a Construction Sage?" he muttered, looking both amused and confused.
Hinata couldn't help but giggle softly beside him. She turned to Naruto and asked with genuine curiosity, "So, Yamato-sensei really builds houses now?"
The agent smiled proudly. "Yes! As long as you tell him what you want, he'll use his legendary Wood Style ninjutsu to build your home in an instant! He's known for precision and craftsmanship — a true master of his art."
Naruto raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "Well, that's new. I never thought I'd hire Captain Yamato to build me a house. Can we meet him?"
"Of course!" the agent replied immediately. "Normally, you'd need to book an appointment weeks in advance, but you're the Hero of the Hidden Leaf — no need for that! I'll send someone to invite Yamato-sama right away."
As the agent left, Hinata turned toward Naruto, her pale lavender eyes thoughtful.
"Naruto-kun, when Captain Yamato gets here, what should we say? It's been a while."
Naruto smiled and crossed his arms. "Let's just be honest. I wanna ask him directly — when did he start doing construction full time?"
Hinata nodded in agreement. She, too, was curious how their former comrade turned ANBU captain ended up as a professional builder.
After half an hour, the agent returned — and with him came none other than Captain Yamato himself.
Yamato entered the room wearing his usual calm expression, but when his eyes landed on Naruto and Hinata, he froze in shock.
"Naruto! Hinata! What are you two doing here?"
Naruto burst out laughing. "Come in, Captain Yamato! It's good to see you again. Sit down!"
The agent looked pleased to see that the three knew each other. "Ah, so you're already acquainted! Perfect — I'll leave you to talk. I've got other clients to check on." With that, he politely excused himself.
Once the agent left, Yamato scratched the back of his head, slightly embarrassed.
Hinata smiled kindly. "Captain Yamato, I didn't expect you to become a Construction Sage! That's incredible."
Yamato chuckled nervously. "Yeah, well… after the Fourth Great Ninja War, I needed something peaceful to do. Using Wood Style for rebuilding homes just felt right. I guess the title sort of stuck."
Naruto laughed. "Makes sense! Hinata and I were looking for a new house, but none of the pre-built ones felt right. So we figured — why not design one ourselves? And then this guy tells us you're the one building houses now! I had to see it to believe it."
Yamato smiled, his confidence returning. "Don't worry, Naruto. I'll make sure your house is perfect — strong, spacious, and built exactly how you want it."
He walked over to the small model house on the table and studied it carefully. "This the one?"
Naruto nodded eagerly. "Yeah, that's the layout I came up with. Take a look — is there any issue with the structure?"
Yamato examined the model for a moment before smiling warmly. "No problem at all. Everything looks stable. Alright, let's head over to the site — I'll start building right away."
The agent came back at that moment, and Yamato waved him over.
"Hey, we're ready. Let's take them to the plot."
The agent smiled but hesitated slightly. "Of course! But, uh, Naruto, you need to make the payment first—"
Yamato interrupted with a grin. "Relax. Let's show them what the house will look like first. They can pay afterward."
The agent thought about it for a second, then nodded quickly. "Fair enough! After all, it's Naruto Uzumaki. Not like he's running off anywhere."
And so, the four of them — Naruto, Hinata, Yamato, and the agent — headed to the site Naruto had chosen the day before.
It was an older part of Konoha, recently cleared for redevelopment. The family who owned the property had moved out to the countryside after the war, seeking a quieter life. The streets were peaceful, surrounded by large trees and small streams — perfect for Naruto's new home.
The agent pointed ahead. "Here we are, Naruto. This is the lot you picked."
Naruto looked around and smiled. "Yeah, this is the one. I like the view."
Yamato observed the property thoughtfully. "Hmm. The old structure is still standing?"
"Right," the agent said, nodding. "We didn't demolish it yet. Would you handle that, Captain Yamato?"
Yamato smirked lightly. "Of course."
He walked forward, clapped his hands together, and began forming seals. His chakra flared, and wood began to rise from the ground.
"Wood Style: Domination of Growth!"
Massive wooden pillars erupted upward, piercing through the old house and breaking it apart effortlessly. The fragments collapsed, and the wood wrapped itself around the debris, compressing it neatly into a pile.
Naruto and Hinata stepped back, watching in awe.
Next, Yamato set the model house down in front of him, glanced at it once, and took a deep breath.
"Alright... let's make this home come alive. Wood Style: House-Making Technique!"
The ground trembled. Wooden roots burst upward like living vines, twisting and shaping themselves according to the design. Beams formed, walls rose, and the roof took shape within seconds.
In less than three seconds, a stunning new villa stood before them — spacious, modern, and designed exactly as Naruto had imagined from his previous life.
Hinata gasped in amazement. "It's… beautiful!"
Naruto was speechless. He circled the house in awe, his eyes gleaming. Every room, every detail was identical to what he remembered — the balcony, the training yard, even the garden space.
Yamato wiped the sweat from his brow and smiled proudly. "What do you think, Naruto? Pretty high accuracy, huh?"
Naruto turned to him, eyes wide, and hugged him tightly. "Captain Yamato, you're incredible! This is perfect!"
Yamato laughed and patted him on the back. "Glad you like it. It's not every day I get to use my Wood Style for something this peaceful."
The agent clapped his hands together and grinned. "Congratulations, Naruto, Hinata! You've officially got your dream home!"
Naruto laughed. "Thanks, little brother. Couldn't have done it without your help."
"Not at all!" the agent replied cheerfully. "But the real credit goes to Yamato-sama here — truly a master craftsman!"
Hinata smiled softly. "Captain Yamato, when we move in, you must come celebrate with us. We'll make dinner — and maybe a drink or two."
Yamato chuckled. "I wouldn't miss it for the world. I built this place — I should see how it feels to live in it, at least for a bit."
After the construction was finished, some leftover debris still remained. The agent immediately called a cleanup team to clear it all.
Meanwhile, Naruto remembered something important — he hadn't brought any cash with him! Most of his money was still with Konan, and it would be awkward to go ask for it right now.
So, he decided to stop by Jiraiya and Sai's studio — where they were working on the new edition of Icha Icha Paradise. The sales had skyrocketed recently, so Jiraiya had generously given Naruto a hefty bag of earnings.
Naruto grabbed that same bag and returned to the agency office, paying off everything in full.
Yamato tried to refuse his share, waving his hands. "No way, Naruto, I didn't build this for money."
But Naruto smiled and pushed it toward him. "Captain Yamato, you earned it. Besides, I insist. You made this place feel like home."
Yamato nodded gratefully. "Alright then. But remember — when you move in, don't forget to invite me for that drink!"
Naruto laughed heartily. "You got it, Captain. You'll be our first guest."
And with that, the three of them looked up at the new home — shining in the sunlight, a symbol of peace, love, and the new life Naruto and Hinata were building together.
