"Let's head back," Karlos said, checking his watch. "It's been three days since I updated Berlin. She'll be worried."
Mike stood, brushing dust from his jacket. The storage room around them was half-burned, documents scattered everywhere. Evidence of Berlin's hidden past lay in ruins.
"Even if Penelope finds out you've betrayed her," Karlos added, "I'll have people watching her. You don't need to be scared."
"I'm not scared." Mike pulled on his coat properly. The evening air was getting cold. "Are we heading to the office or home?"
Karlos glanced at the incriminating documents one last time. "Neither. We'll drive to the private airfield. My jet will take us back to the city."
"Alright."
They walked through the abandoned building, following the stone path down. The long flight of stairs stretched before them, offering glimpses of the lake and city lights below.
