Chapter 191 - Chapter 189: The Limit of the Artificial Sun

Tony Stark's mouth twitched slightly on the side.

His student was still far too naïve.

Once she marries, she's going to be completely wrapped around his finger.

Banner and the others also gradually returned. Now, all that remained was the shell of the artificial sun to be completed, and the experiment could begin.

At that moment, a voice rang out from Ganaata's direction.

"It's done!"

Everyone's attention was instantly drawn over, and they quickly gathered around.

The once irregularly shaped N-metal had now been forged into a perfect sphere, its surface smooth and radiating a mysterious luster.

Dr. Otto carefully picked up the metal sphere and began running a series of tests.

"All parameters are exactly as we hoped for, even exceeding our expectations! Young Master, we might really succeed this time!"

Dr. Otto's voice trembled with excitement.

Kino also showed a satisfied smile on his face and turned to look at Ganaata.

"This wouldn't have been possible without you."

Ganaata casually brushed the nonexistent dust off her hands and said with disinterest, "Just a small matter. Now it's up to you to turn this thing into an artificial sun."

Everyone immediately threw themselves into the tense follow-up work.

As the minutes ticked by, the atmosphere in the lab grew more and more intense.

Finally, with a burst of blinding light, a sun the size of a fist appeared before their eyes.

However, no one cheered prematurely, knowing that the real challenge was just beginning.

Kino was ready—if the experiment failed, he would immediately destroy the miniature sun.

Killian monitored the temperature and all critical data in real-time.

"Initial temperature has reached 50 million degrees Celsius and is steadily rising…"

Connors was monitoring the magnetic confinement system.

"Magnetic containment is currently stable…"

Hank was keeping an eye on energy consumption.

"Energy consumption has surged—we're shutting down all other power-consuming facilities."

Banner was focusing on the vacuum systems.

"The ultra-vacuum field's energy use is exceeding expectations—starting adjustments now."

Everyone worked in full coordination to assist Dr. Otto with this monumental experiment.

Ultron, controlling his mechanical tentacles, continued heating the plasma with radiofrequency waves. For greater precision, he wasn't wearing his glasses, resulting in his eyeball cells constantly being damaged and repaired.

As the temperature spiked, the atmosphere in the lab became even tenser.

"Eighty million degrees Celsius…"

Killian stared at the monitoring data, large beads of sweat pouring down his forehead and sliding down his cheeks. He didn't even have the time to wipe them away, eyes locked on the screen.

"One hundred million degrees Celsius…"

The temperature kept climbing. Killian was sweating even more now, his eyes filled with tension, yet he held firm.

"One hundred and thirty million degrees Celsius…"

Killian's entire forehead was soaked. Sweat dripped into his eyes, but he didn't dare to blink, fully focused on every data change.

"One hundred and fifty million degrees Celsius… It's a success!"

Killian finally couldn't hold back his cheer, but the room remained eerily quiet—everyone was still immersed in their work, without a hint of relaxation.

"One hundred and seventy million degrees Celsius! What are you doing?! Why are you still heating it? Stop right now!"

Killian cried out in disbelief.

Tony chuckled and replied,

"Sure, 150 million degrees Celsius means we've succeeded. But according to nuclear fusion theory and experimental data, within a certain range, every increase in temperature causes the fusion reaction rate to grow exponentially. That means the energy released will surge as well. Don't you want to see the limits of the artificial sun?

If you don't want to continue, I'll take over."

As he spoke, he looked at the instruments in front of Killian.

Killian glanced at the others. None of them said a word—they clearly all had the same thought.

He knew that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If they missed this chance, it would never come again. Even if the outside world had descended into chaos by now, none of them wanted to give up this rare opportunity for exploration.

"F***, you're all insane!"

Killian, now thoroughly frustrated, tore off his shirt, revealing a muscular upper body. But instead of leaving, he focused again on the screen.

"Two hundred and thirty million degrees Celsius…"

"Two hundred and seventy million degrees Celsius…"

Ganaata was no longer looking at the artificial sun. She watched these mad scientists, dazed.

She knew that even if the artificial sun went out of control, she would survive. But what she couldn't understand was why these humans were willing to take such a risk.

Kino seemed to sense her confusion and answered, "For truth, for glory, for curiosity. That's what humans are like. To achieve their goals, they will risk everything—even fall into madness and bloodshed."

"But… is it really worth giving up your life for those things?"

Ganaata was lost in thought.

She believed that nothing in the universe was more important than life itself.

That's why she would never become like her father, who devoured entire planets just to satisfy his hunger.

Even if hunger tormented her for centuries, she would rather endure it than die.

"Who says they'll die? Aside from those strange reasons you mentioned, there's one more: me. I'm here. Because I'm here, they believe that even if it fails, they won't die."

Kino smiled confidently and stretched his hand out toward Venom.

"Venom!"

"Coming!"

Venom leapt onto Kino, merging into his body and forming a Superman-like armor on the outside.

Kino and Venom activated Superman's powers at the same time, merging into one. This was a mode they hadn't even used against Mephisto.

"Dual Superman Mode."

Their bio-fields fused, forming a synergistic effect far beyond the sum of their parts.

The once transparent biological field now shimmered with a faint golden glow.

Kino used it to wrap around the vacuum device, shielding it from the heat and increasing gravitational pull.

The entire lab's temperature dropped rapidly.

"Keep going. Even if this thing explodes today, I guarantee no one here will be harmed."

Hearing that, everyone finally put down their last reservations and devoted themselves completely to the experiment.

"A symbiote? But how can it possess such immense power?"

Ganaata, who had roamed the universe for years, was rarely surprised by anything.

She had studied symbiotes. Though they could copy their host's DNA and gain similar abilities, they were still limited to genetic replication.

These powers had to have an origin, and in the known universe, there wasn't a single race capable of such incredible power purely through genes.

Even the Celestials depended on cosmic energy and dimensional power for their might.

Unable to figure it out after thinking for a while, Ganaata simply stopped pondering and turned back to the tiny artificial sun in the center.

She couldn't help but drool slightly.

Just the leftovers from this thing could feed her for two or three years.

Quote of the Chapter:

"Curiosity is the spark behind the spark of every great idea. If we fear the explosion, we'll never light the flame."
